You will model collection systems and project substations, run load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination, grounding, ampacity, and harmonic analyses, and turn the results into recommendations that project teams and clients use to make design decisions. You will work closely with project managers, electrical designers, and the High Voltage team, and your studies help move clean energy projects from design to energization.\nWe value engineers who check their work carefully, share what they learn, and treat every teammate and client with respect. This role can be performed remotely from the US or Canada. Candidates may be considered at either the Engineer II or Engineer III level depending on experience, technical depth, independence, and demonstrated ability to lead scope.\nAs an employee-owner, you would directly participate in the success of our mission-driven business, founded to support the transition to renewable energy sources.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAcross both levels, this role may include:\nCore Technical & Functional Responsibilities\nPerform power system studies for utility-scale PV and BESS projects, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination, grounding, ampacity, harmonics, and power quality.\nBuild and maintain system models in ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, or similar tools from single-line diagrams, equipment data, and utility information.\nDesign medium-voltage collection systems, including cable routing, cable sizing, and voltage drop and loss calculations.\nDevelop equipment specifications and settings recommendations for inverters, BESS, transformers, switchgear, and cable systems.\nEvaluate, select, and apply standard study methods and criteria, and adapt them for nonroutine aspects of an assignment.\nPrepare study reports, calculations, and drawings that state assumptions, results, and recommended design changes.\nPrepare load flow and dynamic models for interconnection work using vendor-provided inverter and plant controller models.\nAutomate repetitive modeling and reporting tasks with Python or similar tools.\nQuality, Standards & Compliance\nApply the NEC, NFPA 70E, applicable IEEE standards such as IEEE 80 and IEEE 1584, and utility requirements to every study and design.\nCheck model inputs and results against project data before release, and document assumptions so reviewers can trace them.\nResolve review comments from senior engineers and clients and track each one to closure.\nCollaboration & Communication\nCoordinate study inputs and results with project managers, PV BESS electrical designers, and the High Voltage team.\nCommunicate with clients, equipment vendors, and subcontractors to gather data and clarify study requirements.\nAttend project meetings and present study findings and their design implications.\nShare study methods, tools, and lessons learned with the Power System Studies team.\nAdditional Expectations at Engineer III\nLead multiple study projects at once, owning scope, schedule, and budget for assigned studies.\nFormulate and solve complex or unconventional study problems, seeking guidance only when necessary.\nReview studies prepared by less experienced engineers for technical accuracy and sound judgment.\nAssign tasks to and mentor staff engineers, and develop work plans for discipline team members.\nSupport client interaction across multiple projects in a portfolio and assist with proposals and study scopes.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nPerform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.\nPerform additional related duties as assigned or directed.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar applicable work experience.\nEngineer II: 2+ years of power systems analysis experience. Engineer III: 5+ years, including leading study projects.\nWorking knowledge of short circuit, arc flash, load flow, and protective device coordination studies.\nHands-on experience with at least one power system analysis tool such as ETAP, SKM, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, or PSLF.\nUnderstanding of medium-voltage distribution, grounding, and cable systems.\nClear written and verbal communication, including technical report writing.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines with the independence expected at the level you are considered for.\nPreferred Qualifications\nEngineer in Training (EIT) certification, or PE or P.Eng licensure for Engineer III candidates.\nExperience with utility-scale solar PV, BESS, or wind projects.\nExperience with interconnection studies and vendor-provided dynamic models in PSS/E, PSLF, or PSCAD.\nExperience using Python or similar languages to automate studies.\nExperience mentoring engineers or leading small project teams.\nBenefits for Full-Time Positions\nParticipation in Revamp’s Employee Ownership ESOP program.\nCompetitive compensation with bonus.\nFull benefits package offerings including 99% employer-paid health, vision, life, and dental insurance.\nMedical, dependent care, and commuter FSA.\nMonthly health and wellness stipend.\nAttractive vacation, sick, and holiday pay.\nPaid parental leave.\n401(k) savings plan with 100% match up to 6%, vested immediately.\nPaid volunteer time off and charitable donation matching.\nAbout Revamp\nFounded in 2016, Revamp is the premier employee-owned engineering design firm dedicated to advancing large-scale renewable energy projects.
