You will work closely with Underwriting, Claims, agents, insureds, and carriers to evaluate concerns, determine appropriate action, and improve risk-management practices.\nThis role combines hands-on analysis with team leadership. You will use sound judgment to make and implement significant risk-management decisions within your delegated authority, while recognizing when a matter requires leadership input.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonitor insured risk performance, operational changes, claims activity, and loss trends throughout the policy term.\n\nEvaluate changes in exposure, adverse patterns, guideline concerns, and unresolved corrective actions; determine and implement an appropriate response within delegated authority.\n\nPrepare and interpret risk summaries and reports that support underwriting and risk-management decisions.\n\nPartner with Underwriting, Claims, agents, insureds, carriers, and service partners to address concerns and communicate required corrective actions.\n\nMake decisions involving noncompliance, corrective action, and policy cancellation within delegated authority.\n\nDirect the priorities, assignments, and daily work of designated Risk/Claims Support team members; provide training, quality review, and performance feedback.\n\nProvide leadership with input on team performance and staffing needs.\n\nIdentify trends across the book of business and implement or recommend risk-mitigation strategies and process improvements.\n\nQualifications\nExperience in commercial insurance, transportation, risk management, claims, underwriting, or a related field.\n\nPrior leadership or supervisory experience.\n\nA high school diploma or GED; education and experience in insurance, business, risk management, or a related field is required.\n\nStrong judgment, communication, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.\n\nThe ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and handle confidential information with care.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn insurance, policy-administration, underwriting, claims, reporting, and carrier systems.\n\nBenefitsWe offer a comprehensive benefits program for eligible employees, including:\n\nFour medical plan options, including an HSA-eligible plan, with an employer contribution toward employee-only coverage.\n\nTwo dental plan options with an employer contribution, plus voluntary vision coverage.\n\nEmployer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance and employer-paid long-term disability coverage.\n\nEmployer-paid Freshbenies healthcare-navigation and virtual-care resources, plus employee-assistance and wellness resources.\n\nVoluntary life and AD&D, short-term disability, and additional voluntary coverage options.\n\nPaid time off and company holidays.\n\nWork environmentThe position involves regular computer and telephone work, review of detailed records, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
