This role is responsible for both setting direction and staying close to execution, ensuring our cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and observability practices support reliable, scalable, and efficient product delivery.\nYou will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and Security to standardize how we build, deploy, and operate software across the company, while improving delivery speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.\nResponsibilities\nLeadership & Ownership\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers, setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture\nDefine and evolve DevOps and platform engineering strategy across multiple product lines\nEstablish clear ownership boundaries between DevOps, IT, and Security to reduce friction and improve delivery focus\nBuild and scale the DevOps operating model to support a growing engineering organization\nInfrastructure & Cloud\nOwn and evolve our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency\nDefine standards for infrastructure-as-code and environment management across teams\nDrive consistency in cloud architecture and deployment patterns across products\nCI/CD & Developer Experience\nOwn and standardize CI/CD practices across engineering teams to improve delivery speed and predictability\nReduce deployment friction and improve developer productivity through automation and tooling\nDrive adoption of best practices across build, test, release, and deployment workflows\nObservability & Reliability\nOwn our observability strategy using New Relic, ensuring meaningful alerting, dashboards, and SLOs/SLAs are in place\nLead incident response processes, post-mortems, and reliability improvements\nDrive proactive performance tuning and capacity planning\nSecurity & Compliance\nPartner with Security to ensure infrastructure and deployment practices meet compliance and security standards\nImplement and enforce controls across environments aligned with company and regulatory requirements\nMetrics & Outcomes\nOwn and improve engineering delivery metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery\nDrive measurable improvements in system reliability, availability, and operational efficiency\nPartner with Finance and Engineering to improve cloud cost visibility and optimization\nCross-Functional Partnership\nWork closely with Product, Data, and Engineering leadership to align platform capabilities with business priorities\nSupport customer-facing reliability and SLA commitments in partnership with Support and LiveOps teams\nQualifications\nMust-Have\n8+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role\nProven experience leading DevOps or platform teams in a cloud-first environment while remaining hands-on\nCurrent experience supporting engineering teams implementing scalable cloud architectures using CaC, IaC, and Kubernetes.\nStrong proficiency and hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC, S3, and related services)\nDemonstrated experience guiding and leading other DevOps, cloud, and software engineers, leveling up technical proficiency and overall cloud capabilities.\nDeep knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration, including experience running production EKS clusters\nSolid understanding of networking and cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, DNS, and VPN/Direct Connect connectivity\nExperience managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Bitbucket Pipelines or similar tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)\nProficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation\nExtensive experience leveraging observability tooling for logging, monitoring, alerting, incident management, and escalation (New Relic/Datadog/etc.)\nFamiliarity with web application architecture concepts, such as databases, message queues, serverless and event-driven architectures, and caching mechanisms.
