This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze cost structures, support strategic decision-making, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager, and based in our Carlsbad office, this position plays a key role in understanding manufacturing performance, cost trends, and product profitability.\nAs the Cost Accountant, you will have an opportunity to:\nSupport cost accounting for all group companies to ensure accurate inventory costing.\nAssist in maintaining accurate standard costing models, including appropriate allocations of raw materials, labor, overhead and other costs, in accordance with GAAP and company policy.\nSupport accurate and timely reporting of manufacturing performance, including detailed and actionable analyses of manufacturing variances.\nProvide insights into product cost trends and their current and projected impact on operating results.\nCollaborate with manufacturing and sourcing, business unit leadership and FP&A teams on the development and updating of product standard costs.\nSupport the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, as directed.\nSupport work to improve and standardize cost accounting systems and processes, while working within multiple ERP systems.\nAnalyze inventory quantities and costs compared to anticipated usage, sales prices and relevant other information to ensure valuation at lower of cost or net realizable value.\nCollaborate with manufacturing, sourcing and other teams to optimize cost efficiencies.\nEnsure compliance with internal controls, company policies and relevant accounting standards.\nSupport internal and external audits.\nSupport other accounting and business requests as needed\nYou have:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting.\nBasic knowledge of standard costing and inventory accounting processes and US GAAP.\n2+ years’ progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably in a CPG or manufacturing environment.\nExperience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Netsuite.\nAbility to work in a complex organization having multiple business units, brands and ERP systems.\nStrong analytical, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support cross-functional teams\nTalent for improving processes and a mindset for continuous improvement.\nStrong work ethic, a sense of urgency and unquestioned integrity.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).\nAbility to work on site in our Carlsbad, CA offices at least 4 days per week.\nYou might have:\nCertified Public Accountant license or Certified Management Accountant certification\nMBA degree\nPay Range:\nAnnual Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.\nWe offer a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits including: medical and dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, gear discounts and the ability to add value to an exciting mission!\nOur Postings are not intended for distribution to or use in any jurisdiction, country or territory where such distribution or use would violate local law or would subject us to any regulations in another jurisdiction, country or territory.
