If that sounds energizing rather than exhausting, keep reading.\nThe role:\nWe're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering for RC Capital - a zero-to-one team on the ground floor of a brand-new business line. You'll help design, build, ship, and support the infrastructure behind Early Payouts and whatever we build next: underwriting and risk monitoring, money movement and reconciliation, partner bank integrations, and fraud detection.\nThis role blends the technical depth of our core Engineering Manager bar with direct exposure to financial products - factoring, underwriting, risk, banking integrations - so a background in fintech, financial services, or a related regulated/risk-sensitive domain is essential.\nPlease note: although we're fully remote, this team is based across US and European time zones, so there's some expectation of overlap in working hours.\nAbout you:\nYou have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.\n\nYou have 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.\n\nYou have experience working cross functionally to build prioritized roadmaps for your teams.\n\nYou can balance shipping new features, managing tech debt and investing in system improvements.\n\nYou are hands-on and perform code reviews and bug investigation when needed.\n\nYou are comfortable writing SQL queries to analyze data and find inconsistencies.\n\nYou work with your team to ensure that they are consistently producing value and quality software through shorter iterative development cycles.\n\nYou work with your team to improve the quality of our products, ensuring that they meet product requirements, customer needs, and SLAs.\n\nYou provide technical leadership to the team and can work with engineers to help guide them into important technical decisions.\n\nYou have experience working with engineers at different levels and have coached them in their career development.\n\nYou are customer obsessed, prioritizing their outcomes and experiences\n\nResponsibilities:\nBuild and lead a highly engaged distributed team by hiring, supporting, coaching the team to deliver consistently and continuously seek ways to make an impact.\n\nWork cross functionally primarily with product, design and support teams to set direction for the team, anticipate strategic and scaling related challenges through thoughtful long term planning\n\nWork with your team on the iterative execution of the roadmap and build efficient & transparent processes for consistent and predictable delivery.\n\nCoach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development.\n\nWork with other engineering managers to continuously improve our organization & create a strong sense of ownership, belonging and inclusivity.\n\nIn the first month, you'll:\nGet up to speed on our current technical projects\n\nMeet every contributor on your team and understand what their areas of expertise are\n\nMeet EMs and PMs from other teams to understand what those teams are doing.\n\nWork with your team and understand how we do iterative development and the team processes\n\nCollaborate with your design and product peers to understand current team priorities.\n\nSchedule 1:1’s with your team to get to know them better\n\nWithin the first 3 months, you'll:\nHave shipped your first big feature and learned about what worked (and what didn't)\n\nCollaborate with the product and design team and deliver quarterly planning\n\nUnderstand how RevenueCat is used by customers and the areas of focus for your team to help build a better customer experience.\n\nWork with your team to define milestones and deliverables and ensure that the team is shipping iteratively.\n\nUnderstand the short and long term goals of your team, and help them with their career planning and progression\n\nWork with the recruiting team and your peers to hire for the company.\n\nWithin the first 6 months, you'll:\nHave established and refined processes to enable shipping fast and reliably\n\nUnderstand the team dynamics and be able to predict team capacity around project execution and are now planning ahead for the team\n\nChampion technical improvements and debt reduction alongside feature development\n\nBe part of technical discussions and guide the team to come to an optimal solution\n\nWithin the first 12 months, you'll:\nHave built domain knowledge and can easily debug, route and prioritize any incoming triage issues\n\nHave established clear communication guidelines within the team to enable open and honest communication\n\nHave helped bring in the right talent to RevenueCat through interviews, sourcing and screening for candidates who are aligned with our company values\n\nHave built trust with the team through relationship building, mentoring and coaching and providing them opportunities and timely feedback to help them grow\n\nHave a thorough understanding of how our product works and are able to communicate and guide the team in planning and prioritizing work and finding opportunities\n\nWhat we offer:\nCompetitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator\n\n10-year window to exercise vested equity options\n\nA fully remote environment designed around autonomy and flexibility\n\n4-5 weeks of flexible time off annually\n\nPaid desk at a co-working space\n\nWorkspace budget and continuous learning stipend\n\nInterviewing at RevenueCat\nOur interview process is rigorous on purpose.
