This role is critical to ensuring our molds run efficiently, produce high-quality parts, and minimize downtime.\nThis position may be filled at the Technician I, II, or Senior level, depending on experience and technical expertise. The compensation for this role is flexible within the posted range, depending on experience and expertise in injection molding tooling, mold repair, and process support..\nThe Tooling Technician is a hands-on role responsible for keeping injection molds running safely, efficiently, and producing quality parts. This position spends the majority of time on the production floor working directly with molds, presses, and process technicians to troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance. This role is ideal for an experienced injection mold technician who enjoys problem-solving and working with their hands.\nRequirements\nTroubleshoot mold-related production issues directly in the press (flash, short shots, sticking parts, cosmetic defects).\nTear down molds for repair and preventative maintenance.\nClean, polish, lubricate, and replace mold components (pins, bushings, lifters, slides, ejectors).\nWork on hot runner systems, including diagnosing heaters, thermocouples, leaks, and wiring issues.\nInspect cooling lines, vents, and parting lines to ensure proper mold performance.\nPerform emergency mold repairs to get production back up and running quickly.\nSupport new mold trials, startups, and process changes.\nWork closely with Process Technicians, Operators, Quality, and Supervisors on the floor.\nIdentify recurring tooling issues and suggest practical fixes or improvements.\nKeep tooling PMs and repair documentation up to date.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.\nWeld, machine, grind, burn, polish, and handwork damaged area.\nUse CADD and manual measurements to reverse engineer damaged components.\nWhat We are Looking For\n10+ years of hands-on tooling experience in a plastic injection molding facility.\nStrong working knowledge of injection molds and mold function.\nExperience working directly on molds in the press in a production environment.\nComfortable troubleshooting under pressure and making quick, sound decisions.\nExperience with hot runner systems (DME, Husky, Mold-Masters, Synventive, or similar).\nAbility to read mold prints and understand mold construction.\nSolid mechanical skills and comfort using hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a production team.\n5+ years CNC mill programing and set-up.\n5+ years G code and CADD/CAM experience.\nMust be able to run all manual toolroom equipment (mill, lathe, surface grinder).\nEDM sinker and wire experience.\nExperience working on mold with an overhead crane.\nNice to Have\nTool & Die, Mold Making, or technical trade certification.\nPrecision micro TIG welding, polishing A1 surfaces.\nExperience in high-volume or tight-tolerance molding environments (automotive, medical, consumer goods).\nFusion 360 and or SolidWorks experience.\nIQMS experience.\nHAAS CNC mill experience.\nPhysical & Shop Environment\nRegularly lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.\nUse of PPE required (saftey glasses, high visibility clothing, safety toed boots).\nStanding, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces.\nWorking around hot molds, presses, cranes, and industrial equipment.\nWillingness to work overtime or weekends when production requires.\nHands-on role 60-80% of the time, with mixture of desk and computer duties.\nWhy Join Our Team?\nCompetitive hourly pay based on your skills and experience.\nComprehensive benefits package, including free medical/HSA coverage for employees earning under $75,000 annually who elect individual coverage.\n 401(k) retirement plan to help you invest in your future.\nGenerous paid time off and company holidays so you can recharge and spend time with family.\nNo-cost weekly uniform service -
