The SME will assess existing development environments, identify opportunities for modernization and automation, and guide engineering teams in implementing secure, scalable, and reliable software delivery solutions.\nThe ideal candidate brings extensive Java development experience, deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline architecture and automation, and a demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges across enterprise application environments. This role requires someone who can operate independently, advise government stakeholders, and work directly with development teams to improve software quality, deployment efficiency, and overall mission delivery.\nWhat You'll Do\nServe as the technical authority for Java application development, CI/CD architecture, build automation, and secure software delivery practices.\nProvide expert guidance on Java application architecture, development standards, code quality, performance optimization, and enterprise application modernization.\nDesign, evaluate, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, security scanning, integration, and application deployment.\nAssess existing Java applications, development frameworks, and delivery pipelines to identify technical gaps, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement.\nEstablish and promote engineering best practices for Java development, automated testing, version control, dependency management, and release management.\nSupport the integration of security controls and automated vulnerability scanning throughout the software development lifecycle using DevSecOps methodologies.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex application development, build, integration, and deployment issues across multiple environments.\nProvide technical guidance to Agile development teams, supporting consistent engineering practices and continuous improvement across multiple Scrum teams.\nCollaborate with software developers, DevOps engineers, architects, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders to align technical solutions with program objectives.\nLead technical assessments, root cause analyses, and specialized tiger teams to resolve critical software development and delivery challenges.\nDevelop technical studies, white papers, architecture recommendations, and implementation plans that identify improvements, recommended solutions, and estimated levels of effort.\nEvaluate emerging Java technologies, automation frameworks, and CI/CD capabilities to recommend improvements in application performance, security, and delivery efficiency.\nReview technical deliverables, architecture designs, development practices, and pipeline configurations to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.\nPresent technical findings, risks, recommendations, and implementation strategies to government stakeholders and program leadership.\nWhat You Bring (Requirements)\nU.S. Citizenship required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.\n10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, application development, DevOps, or related technical disciplines.\nExtensive hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using Java.\nDemonstrated expertise designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines within enterprise software development environments.\nStrong understanding of Java application architecture, object-oriented programming, software design principles, and application performance optimization.\nExperience with Java development frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.\nExperience with CI/CD and build automation technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Maven, or Gradle.\nStrong understanding of DevSecOps principles, secure software development practices, automated testing, and vulnerability management.\nExperience with source code management and version control systems, particularly Git.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex application, integration, build, and deployment issues.\nExperience working within Agile development environments involving multiple development teams and cross-functional stakeholders.\nAbility to conduct technical assessments, develop implementation recommendations, and produce detailed technical documentation and executive-level deliverables.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.\nAbility to work independently, provide technical leadership, and deliver high-quality solutions with minimal oversight.\n#DICE #LinkedIn\n___________________________________________________________________________________________________________\nHere at Revolutional we are pleased to have been repeatedly recognized for our outstanding work culture, the innovative work we do, and the employees on our team who make a difference each day.
