You will collaborate with application developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions that meet federal security and governance requirements.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong SQL development expertise with a problem-solving mindset, attention to performance, and the ability to improve and modernize complex database environments.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support enterprise applications and data processing requirements.\nAnalyze database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement improvements to query efficiency, scalability, and reliability.\nSupport database modernization and migration initiatives, including transitioning legacy databases to AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.\nCollaborate with application developers to integrate database functionality, optimize data access, and support application performance.\nImplement database security best practices, including access controls, data protection, and compliance with federal security and governance standards.\nTroubleshoot and resolve database issues across development, testing, and production environments.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.\nParticipate in code reviews, promote database development standards, and provide technical guidance to junior developers.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement, system reliability, and modernization objectives.\nTechnical Environment\nDatabase Technologies: PostgreSQL, SQL, relational database management systems\nCloud Platforms: AWS RDS, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL\nDevelopment: SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, query optimization\nSecurity: Database access controls, data protection, federal security and governance standards\nDelivery Practices: Database migrations, performance tuning, CI/CD, Agile development\nWhat You Bring (Requirements)\nBaseline Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent certifications and professional experience.\n3+ years of hands-on SQL development experience supporting enterprise applications or database environments.\nExperience working in federal government, government contracting, or similarly regulated environments.\nU.S. Citizenship required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nTechnical Capabilities\nStrong proficiency in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and performance optimization.\nExperience troubleshooting database performance issues and optimizing data processing efficiency.\nUnderstanding of relational database design, data integrity, and database development best practices.\nKnowledge of database security, access controls, and data governance requirements.\nExperience collaborating with application development, infrastructure, and security teams.\nAbility to develop clear technical documentation supporting system maintenance, operational continuity, and compliance.\nCore Strengths\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.\nHands-on, detail-oriented approach to database development and performance improvement.\nStrong ownership and accountability for code quality, reliability, and delivery.\nEffective communication and collaboration across technical teams.\nAbility to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.\nNice to Have (Differentiators)\nExperience migrating legacy databases to AWS RDS or Aurora PostgreSQL.\nExperience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational database platforms.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, database deployment automation, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.\nExperience working within Agile or Scrum development teams.\n___________________________________________________________________________________________________________\nHere at Revolutional we are pleased to have been repeatedly recognized for our outstanding work culture, the innovative work we do, and the employees on our team who make a difference each day.
