We are looking for an innovative Bioinformatics Analyst to join our bioinformatics team for a fixed term contract of circa 6-8 months.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nProcess and manage Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis\nDevelop data processing pipelines for genomics and other lab testing assays\nDevelop software applications, databases and custom scripts\nMaintain sample tracking logs and deliver results to customers\nSupport internal and external data analysis and application development projects\nAssist in managing data archival, storage and computing resources\nCollaborate with other business stakeholders to identify challenges and present solutions\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer sciences or equivalent in Life Sciences discipline\n2+ years of experience in bioinformatics in an industrial, academic, or government laboratory\n2+ years of experience in building and delivering NGS data analysis pipelines and software applications\nStrong programming skills and proficient in programing languages including Python, SQL and shell scripting\nExperience in AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, Batch, etc.) is a plus\nExperience in Illumina's BaseSpace and ICA (Illumina Connected Analytics) platforms is a plus\nExperience in long-read sequencing data technologies (PacBio HiFi, Oxford Nanopore) is a plus\nStrong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills\nAbility to work independently as well as work with others in a team\nExperience in working in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred","description_format":"text","description_chars":2281,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Bioinformatics","Diagnostic Tests & IVD","Genomics & Genetic Testing","Scientific & Lab Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-27T10:11:21Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Senior or Specialist Worker, Skilled Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker;
