Join Revvity and play a pivotal role in bringing life-changing diagnostic instruments to life.\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer (Mechatronics), you'll own the full journey - from concept to production - for some of the most technically sophisticated instruments in the diagnostics industry. You'll work at the heart of our manufacturing operations, drivingNew Product Introduction (NPI)and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and performance.\nYou'll be assigned ownership of a primary instrument or product group, becoming the go-to expert on its build, test, and process requirements, and you'll carry that stewardship all the way through to full operational handover.\nManufacturing Support\nWorking in close project collaboration with the manufacturing operations teams, Research and Development etc. ownership for the facility and bring to life NPI’s in a timely manner.\n\nWork with other members of the engineering team and manufacturing to translate product requirements into functional specifications.\n\nBuilding and evaluating prototypes.\n\nTeam Leadership including:\nDirecting and mentoring other engineers within a project team.\n\nProject planning and estimation of Engineering tasks\n\nPlanning and executing a risk management plan\n\nTask delivery, delegation and monitoring.\n\nEnsuring Mechanical Engineering deliverables are met.\n\nDirection of external consultants and suppliers\n\nProvide project plans; Milestones, resources, detailed activities and agreed, Quality controls and strict health and safety criteria, conducting business risk planning and mitigation of risk where applicable.\n\nLiaise with New Product Design team on; DFM (DfX), testing and prototyping of concept designs, new product development stage gates and manufacturing time lines. Develop clear feedback process to ensure any manufacturing concerns are recorded. (Through the ECN process)\n\nProcess\nAbility to assess technical risk and to formulate effective risk management strategy including analysis and evaluation program.\n\nProduct Development\nWork within our product development process\n\nConduct design reviews and react to input from other members of the project team\n\nProduce the required level of documentation\n\nDrive continuous improvement of the mechanical engineering elements of our processes.\n\nPrevious involvement in most aspects of the development life cycle, from initial analysis and design to implementation, testing and documentation\n\nLeadership\nDemonstrable experience in leading small teams and external consultants.\n\nAbility to plan projects and allocate tasks\n\nFormal training in leadership / management\n\nGeneral\nGood communication skills, enabling successful interaction with team leaders, fellow engineers and engineering management\n\nSelf-motivated with drive to keep abreast of new technologies and market / industry trends.\n\nA pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution. Able to reach across functional boundaries to overcome obstacles. Keeps sight of commercial objectives and prioritise work appropriately.\n\nWilling to work within structured development program and take responsibility for product delivery.\n\nAble to critically look at performance and engineering practices to define and improve departmental procedures.\n\nScientific background or interests (optical and chemical)\n\nSome business knowledge of the chemical analysis or related market sectors\n\nTravel: \nBoth domestic and international travel will be required on an ad hoc basis for this position.\n\nQualifications:\nBSc, MSc or equivalent degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering is preferable.\n\nGood grounding in Chemistry and Physics with a high level of understanding of optical systems. Understanding and practice of Six Sigma methodologies\n\n‘Agile’ or other project management experience.\n\nMinimum 5 years’ experience is sought after, time served in an engineering role.\n\nUnderstanding of and experience in the environments and requirements for both New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing of technical assemblies.\n\nResults & execution driven: consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.\n\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented and passion for continuous improvements.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nExcellent project management skills.\n\nExcellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills.\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. #\n\nProven problem-solving ability and can demonstrate working knowledge of problem solving methodologies.
