The research associate will be involved in the early stage of product development for recombinant protein/antibody products. The duties include preparing cell culture media, DNA purification, PCR and molecular cloning, bacterial and mammalian cell cultures, and purifying recombinant proteins/antibodies with several affinity tags, and weekly presentations of results to internal and external groups.\nThis position offers a significant opportunity for learning molecular biology techniques and career growth in the biotechnology industry.\nEssential Functions\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPrepare cell culture media for experiments.\nPerform cloning, e.g. seamless cloning, and verify the plasmid sequence.\nPerform PCR and DNA purification for molecular cloning.\nPerform mammalian and bacterial cell cultures.\nPurify recombinant protein/antibodies by affinity tag\nPerform protein SDS-PAGE gel and DNA agarose gel.\nDocumentation of experiments and generation of reports in conjunction with other research staff.\nMaintain DNA inventory, laboratory equipment, and manage supplies.\nAssist in troubleshooting of experiments and the development of new laboratory procedures under appropriate supervision.\nOther projects or responsibilities as may be required.\nMinimum Qualifications - Education and Experience\nBachelors of Science in Biological Sciences\n1 year of general training in molecular biological laboratory or research environment\nPreferred Qualifications - Education and Experience\nExperience with maintenance of suspension mammalian cell lines culture\nResearch & development experience in any industrial R&D environment\nGood analytical, communication, and organization skills\nDemonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized and work well in small workgroups\nAble to perform basic computer operations such as MS Office and Outlook and other computer-based software such as Snapgene.\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.\nWork Environment & Physical Demands\nLab\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position.
