Benefits vary by country and location and are regularly reviewed to meet the needs of our people.\n\nFind out more about our rewards, benefits and wellbeing offering here.\n\nLocation & Contract Type: This is a hybrid role that would require presence in our Sofia or Plovdiv office at least twice per week, as agreed.\n\nWhat You’ll be Doing:\n\nInterpret, define, and develop software solutions based on written requirements and technical specifications.\n\nIdentify opportunities for improvement in existing products and implement enhancements across the platform.\n\nTroubleshoot, test, and maintain core applications and databases to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.\n\nCollaborate with QA to define acceptance criteria and assist with debugging and issue resolution.\n\nContribute to the creation and upkeep of comprehensive technical documentation.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-structured code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices.\n\nWork effectively within globally distributed, cross-functional teams.\n\nParticipate in mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support team development.\n\nThe Experience and Key Skills you will have:\n\nProven experience in backend web application development, with strong proficiency in PHP 8+ and MySQL.\n\nSolid understanding of OOP principles, SOLID, and modern software engineering best practices.\n\nProven experience applying design patterns to build maintainable and scalable solutions.\n\nHands-on experience with Unit and Integration testing (e.g., PHPUnit, Pest).\n\nStrong working knowledge of SQL, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL.\n\nAbility to leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation.\n\nExcellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, globally distributed teams.\n\nComfortable working in environments that follow strong Agile practices, including iterative development, continuous improvement, and close collaboration with product\n\nThe interview process:\n\nScreening interview with our Senior Talent Acquisition Partner\n\nFirst stage online interview with our Engineering Leads\n\nFinal stage online interview with technical Q&A and a coding review exercise\n\nAt Reward Gateway | Edenred, we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all candidates.
