Apply today!\nAbout the role\nAs a Maintenance Mechanic & Welder, you will be responsible for performing various mechanical, maintenance, and repair work, including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment. The mechanic may inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps, replace or rebuild pumps, replace fan bearings, replace motors, repair screw conveyors, rebuild or change gearboxes, install and modify pipelines, and assist in the modification and addition of plant projects.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nFabricate and weld to standard platforms, chutes, and other non-pressure vessel code welding procedures.\nPressure part welding of carbon steel and stainless steel with previous qualification in all positions to NBIC code specs.\nInterpret and use blueprints, construction drawings, and AWS welding symbols.\nGeneral rigging practices, specifically in boiler element rigging.\nActively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment.\nRead and interpret measuring tools, graphs, and technical manuals.\nFollow all health and safety rules and regulations mandated by law and per the policies and procedures. Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.\nPosition Requirements & Qualifications:\nMust have at least five years’ experience in all phases of the Millwright and Boilermaker phase.\nHigh School Diploma/GED. Formal technical or apprenticeship training is desired.\nMust understand blueprints and be capable of performing all welding scopes to include stick, Tig and Mig welding, welding of steel and stainless steel, and be able to become code qualified for boiler repairs.\nMust be capable of performing welding in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW as well as all portable cutting technologies.\nThorough knowledge of loads and hoisting equipment is necessary.\nThe ability to read, understand, and apply information such as OSHA lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, and procedure manuals.\nTraining and skills in metal working tools and metal working shop equipment in the performance of his/her assigned tasks.\nCandidate must have excellent manual dexterity, allowing for the repair of precision equipment, safely and effectively, while working in awkward locations/positions.\nOral and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and decision-making ability.\nFundamental computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard operating & safety procedures.\nMust be able to work overtime on a rotating on-call schedule to support plant operations as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
