Apply today!\nAbout the role\nReworld is seeking a Plant Superintendent to lead the operation of our Mass Burn Unit at a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy facility. This leadership role is ideal for professionals with experience in power generation, waste-to-energy (WTE), municipal solid waste (MSW) combustion, utility operations, boiler and turbine operations, industrial manufacturing, energy production, heavy industrial operations, or process manufacturing environments. The Plant Superintendent is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective plant performance while leading a high-performing operations team.\nThis position offers the opportunity to lead a critical operation that converts waste into sustainable energy while supporting essential infrastructure for local communities. The successful candidate will lead frontline operations personnel, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support technical training programs, manage operational priorities, and ensure the facility consistently achieves production, reliability, safety, and compliance objectives.\nRelocation Assistance Available. Sign-On Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates\nDuties & Responsibilities\nSupervise, coach, mentor, and provide daily leadership to operations personnel.\nConduct performance evaluations and address employee development opportunities.\nSupport company objectives and lead the implementation of operational improvement initiatives.\nCoordinate cross-department activities to ensure efficient, reliable plant operations.\nManage and administer technical training programs while developing new training as needed.\nLead initiatives to improve plant performance, equipment reliability, operating procedures, and maintenance effectiveness.\nEnsure effective communication between operations and maintenance teams regarding equipment condition, system performance, and reliability concerns.\nMaintain readiness for emergency situations and support execution of the facility's emergency response plan.\nRoutinely inspect plant equipment and operating areas to verify safe and efficient performance.\nEnsure compliance with all environmental permits, health and safety policies, and regulatory requirements.\nPerform additional duties as assigned by facility leadership.\nRequirements, Education & Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.\nMinimum of 10 years of supervisory and management experience within a power generation, waste-to-energy, utility, or industrial process facility.\nAbility to obtain ASME QRO Provisional Certification within six months of employment.\nAbility to achieve Site-Specific ASME QRO Operator Certification within twelve months of employment.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nThorough understanding of power plant and industrial process operations.\nExperience with municipal solid waste combustion and materials handling processes preferred.\nKnowledge of turbine generators, rotating equipment, and electrical generation systems.\nFamiliarity with electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.\nStrong leadership, communication, coaching, and team development skills.\nAbility to analyze operational issues and develop effective solutions.\nProven ability to lead teams in achieving safety, reliability, production, and compliance goals.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.\nCommitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.\nSchedule\nOn-site position, Monday through Friday.\nMust be available to support plant operations during evenings, weekends, and holidays when business needs require.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to walk, stand, sit, and climb throughout an industrial facility.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to work at heights and in confined spaces.\nAbility to qualify for and wear a full-face respirator.\nAbility to work in varying weather and industrial operating conditions.\nAll Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.\nPlease note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.\nPay Transparency\nReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
