Apply today!\nAbout the role\nReporting to the Manager, Health and Safety, the Safety Coordinator will perform a varying range of responsibilities to minimize the risk of job-related accidents. The role supports a diverse assortment of safety projects, ensure best practices are implemented, affirm safety compliance requirements are met, and maintain the creation of a healthy and safe workplace.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nProvide an active leadership role in management of the facility’s safety and health programs and motivate, educate, and enforce Reworld’s safety and health policies.\nConduct safety observations, audits, and reports, and follow up on outstanding matters.\nEducate employees on safety standards and expectations, including safe machine and equipment operations, and the administration of on-site certification for various mobile equipment.\nPerform safety training for new hires, conduct contractor safety briefings, maintain, and coordinate external vendor training for the facility’s Quick Response and Confined Space teams.\nManage contractor safety and health performance with facility management; ensure contractors are properly trained, use appropriate tools and equipment, and protect all employees from injury. \nPrepare and deliver monthly safety-related training to multiple departments.\nCoordinate and schedule annual medical surveillance exams, annual respirator fit testing, noise, lead and industrial hygiene sampling, and annual emergency evacuation drills.\nInvestigate on-site accidents and identify possible causes of the incident.\nAssist with preparing OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program’s annual report, uphold the standards required for recertification.\nMaintain documentation of the Company’s safety procedures, accidents, tailgate meetings, and other related administrative requirements and events.\nProvide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.\nDemonstrate a personal commitment to safety and health excellence.\n·Articulate communicator with excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.\nOrganized, team player who is an effective influencer.\nProficient with Microsoft applications that include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with implementing occupational safety and health training programs.\nPosition Requirements & Qualifications:\nHigh School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health or science-related discipline preferred.\nPractical knowledge of OSHA 1910 and related local safety and health regulations.\nAt least three years’ safety experience in the operations and maintenance of a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a power plant or energy-from waste facilities.\nWilling to work evenings and weekends on a non-routine basis, when required, to support facility operations.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to walk, stand, sit, and climb ladders.\nAbility to lift/carry 50lbs.\nAbility to work from heights and in confined spaces.\nQualify to wear a full-face respirator. \nConsistently work in various weather conditions\nShift:\nMonday through Friday days, some evenings, and weekends.\nWhat Reworld Offers You:\nHealth Care Benefits - start 1st day of employment.\nPerformance based Annual Incentive Plan \nWellness Program Incentives & Rewards\n401k - match up to 7%\nPaid Time Off (Vacation & Holiday)\nPaid Parental Leave\nShort-Term & Long-Term Disability Benefits\nTuition Reimbursement\nEmployee Referral Bonus\nIn addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits.
