Apply today!\nAbout the role\nReporting to the Regional Safety Manager and Facility Manager, the Safety Program Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) program aligned with Reworld standards. This facility-level industrial EHS leadership role emphasizes OSHA compliance, safety management, environmental stewardship, and daily partnership with operations and maintenance teams.\nAt Reworld, safety is our core value and the foundation of everything we do. The Safety Program Manager plays a critical role in advancing that commitment through operational excellence, compliance leadership, and a culture of continuous improvement.\nThis facility-level role spans strategic, tactical, and transformational safety leadership, including regulatory compliance, safety policy implementation, training, incident investigation, OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition to managing the facility's safety program, the incumbent oversees employee safety training and supports the daily execution of safety and health activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role may also support cross-facility collaboration, mentor other Safety Program Managers, and participate in enterprise-wide safety initiatives.\nThis position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage all aspects of the facility's Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) programs, demonstrating a visible and personal commitment to safety excellence and injury-free operations.\n\nEnsure compliance with applicable OSHA 1910/1926 regulations, permits, and Reworld safety requirements, including OSHA Voluntary Protection Program initiatives where applicable.\n\nMonitor program effectiveness through KPIs, audits, field observations, and inspections; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nLead accident, near-miss, first-aid, recordable, vehicle, and contractor incident investigations, including scene security, medical response coordination, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.\n\nMaintain complete, accurate, and compliant safety records, logs, reports, and regulatory documentation.\n\nManage the facility safety training program, including required training, alerts, bulletins, procedures, and contractor compliance requirements.\n\nEducate, coach, and motivate employees and contractors on safe work practices while recognizing positive behaviors and addressing unsafe conditions and acts.\n\nPartner with facility leadership to oversee contractor and temporary worker safety performance, qualifications, training, tools, and equipment.\n\nServe as the primary contact for occupational health and medical surveillance programs, including physical examinations, hearing conservation, respirator evaluations, and other required monitoring.\n\nSupport facility environmental compliance activities including inspections, permit requirements, reporting obligations, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.\n\nLead safety committees and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen safety culture.\n\nPosition Requirements\nBachelor's degree preferred in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent industrial experience will be considered.\n\nTwo to four years (2-4) or more years of occupational health and safety experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing, thermomechanical treatment (TTF) operations, power generation, utility, chemical processing, materials recovery, recycling, or other heavy industrial environments.\n\nWorking knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and applicable state safety regulations.\n\nExperience supporting operations and maintenance activities within an industrial facility strongly preferred.\n\nProfessional safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, or CHST are preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nSelf-directed, action-oriented leader with strong ethical standards and personal accountability.\n\nProven ability to lead through influence and achieve results independently and through teams.\n\nStrong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on operational excellence and risk reduction.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.\n\nEffective change agent who can challenge the status quo and drive meaningful improvement.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to walk, stand, sit, and climb ladders and stairs.\n\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\n\nAbility to work at heights and in confined spaces.\n\nAbility to qualify for and wear a full-face respirator.\n\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.\n\nAll Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.\nPlease note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.\nPay Transparency\nReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
