Apply today!!\nAbout the role\nThe Utility Operator (UO) is a member of the Operations Department and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, inspection, cleaning, and housekeeping of equipment throughout the Residue Storage and Processing Building (RSPB) and other assigned areas of the facility.\nThe Utility Operator supports the operation of ash handling, residue processing, and metal recovery systems while identifying and reporting equipment issues and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate, monitor, and inspect ash handling, residue processing, and metal recovery equipment.\nPerform routine inspections of conveyors, magnets, non-ferrous recovery equipment, screens, crushers, ash conditioning equipment, and related systems.\nMonitor equipment for abnormal conditions, blockages, buildup, leaks, noise, vibration, or other issues and report them to the Shift Supervisor.\nPerform routine cleaning and housekeeping of equipment and work areas, including maintaining 5S standards.\nAssist with routine maintenance activities and work evolutions.\nParticipate in boiler cleanings, outages, shutdowns, and other plant work evolutions.\nFollow all operating procedures, safety procedures, LOTO requirements, and environmental requirements.\nComplete operating logs, inspections, checklists, and required documentation.\nComplete required Reworld training and qualify as an Equipment Operator within the assigned timelines.\nWork closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel to support safe and reliable plant operation.\nPerform other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor.\nPosition Requirements\nValid 4th Class Operating Engineer Certificate of Qualification is required.\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nPrevious industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or waste-to-energy experience is an asset.\nAbility to read and understand technical procedures, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures.\nAbility to use a computer and complete online training.\nMechanical aptitude and ability to identify and communicate equipment issues.\nStrong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.\nAbility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and planned outages as required.\nPhysical Demands and Working Conditions\nExposure to high temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and industrial environments.\nWork around moving machinery, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.\nAbility to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection where required.\nAbility to climb ladders and structures and work at heights.\nFrequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.\nAll Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.\nPlease note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.\nPay Transparency\nThis role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
