The role leads and develops the warehouse team, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with health and safety, quality, and company policies.\nKey Accountabilities:\nManage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately and on time.\nLead, motivate, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leads, general operatives, including training, performance management, and rota planning.\nEnsure full compliance with health and safety legislation, conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks, and promoting a strong safety culture.\nMonitor, manage & assist with stock accuracy, including regular stock takes, cycle counts, and investigation of discrepancies.\nPlan and manage warehouse resources, including labour, equipment, and space utilisation, to meet operational demand.\nSet, monitor, and report on KPIs covering productivity, accuracy, cost, and service levels.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.\nEnsure all equipment in the warehouse (including reach trucks and forklifts) are maintained and safe to use.\nManage relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.\nEnsure compliance with all relevant regulatory, licensing, and audit requirements.\nPrepare and manage the warehouse operating budget, controlling costs within agreed targets.\nHandle escalated operational issues, customer complaints, and disciplinary matters as required.\n Requirements & Qualifications:\nProven experience in a warehouse or distribution management role, ideally within a similar industry.\nStrong track record of leading and developing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.\nSolid understanding of health and safety legislation and warehouse operating procedures.\nExperience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).\nStrong leadership, communication, and people management skills.\nGood commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and KPIs.\nA relevant management or logistics qualifications is desirable.\nFlexibility to work shifts and be available to support out-of-hours operational needs.\nPhysical Requirements:\nComfortable working in a warehouse environment\nFully Able to assist on the warehouse floor for extended periods.\nOccasional manual handling in line with company guidelines.\nHealth & Safety:\nThe Warehouse Operations Manager holds overall responsibility for health and safety within the warehouse, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, PPE is worn correctly, and all hazards, near-misses, or incidents are reported and investigated promptly.\n Benefits:\nAdditional leave\nBike to work scheme\nCompany events\nCompany pension\nEmployee assistance program\nEmployee discount\nOn-site parking\nPrivate medical insurance\nSick pay\nStore discount\nAt Rexel we welcome people from all backgrounds with diverse perspectives and experiences.
