This role supervises a team of maintenance technicians while coordinating preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position partners closely with Production, Engineering, and plant leadership to maximize equipment reliability, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role influences daily plant performance through effective planning, technical leadership, and employee development.\nYou Will Have the Opportunity to Make Great Things Happen!\nLeadership\nSupervise, coach, and develop a team of 5-20 maintenance employees to achieve safety, reliability, quality, and productivity objectives. \nEstablish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and foster employee engagement and skill development. \nSchedule work assignments and allocate resources to meet production and maintenance priorities. \nMaintenance Operations\nLead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. \nCoordinate emergency repairs, equipment installations, modifications, and rebuilds to support continuous manufacturing operations. \nAssist in planning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility. \nCross-Functional Partnership\nPartner with Production and Engineering to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions that improve operational performance. \nCollaborate with Engineering to ensure new and existing equipment complies with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements. \nEvaluate contractor services and replacement parts, recommend solutions, and support procurement of maintenance materials and services. \nAsset Reliability & Continuous Improvement\nMonitor the performance of major plant utility systems and lead maintenance activities that improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and operating costs. \nOversee fire protection system readiness and coordinate timely response to abnormal operating conditions. \nSupport continuous improvement and quality initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance and equipment effectiveness. \nSafety & Compliance\nChampion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. \nEnsure proper use of personal protective equipment and maintain compliance with safe work practices. \nLead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. \nDevelop job safety plans, conduct field safety audits, facilitate safety meetings, and communicate updates to safety programs. \nServe as the designated program administrator for assigned critical safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and other plant safety initiatives.\nYou Will Love It Here If…\nYou listen, learn, and evolve\nYou thrive in a fast-paced environment\nYou put safety first, always\nYou are passionate about collaboration, teamwork, and achieving shared goals\nYou believe in treating all people with respect, operating ethically, and growing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace\nYou are committed to improving our impact on local communities and creating positive experiences \nQualifications\nEducation/Experience\n Required\nAssociate degree or technical certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.\n5+ years of progressive manufacturing maintenance experience. \n Preferred\nExperience leading maintenance activities or serving in a lead, foreman, or similar leadership role.\nPrevious experience supervising and developing maintenance employees. \nExperience working in a union manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nWorking knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment reliability principles. \nStrong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills. \nEffective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. \nStrong planning, organization, and prioritization skills. \nAbility to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \nAbility to work a flexible schedule as business needs require.\nCompetencies:\nDirects Work - Effectively plans, prioritizes, and coordinates resources to achieve operational objectives safely and efficiently. \nDevelops Talent - Builds team capability through coaching, mentoring, and continuous performance development. \nDecision Quality - Makes timely, sound decisions using technical knowledge, operational data, and business judgment. \nEnsures Accountability - Establishes clear expectations and holds individuals accountable for safety, quality, and performance results. \nCollaborates - Builds productive partnerships across functions to solve problems and improve plant performance. \nDrives Results - Consistently delivers reliable operational outcomes while balancing safety, quality, cost, and equipment reliability.\nWant to know more?
