In this role you will be the main point of contact for benefits-related questions, ensure accurate and compliant processing of enrollments and changes, and provide data and analysis that help the Total Rewards team make informed decisions about our benefits programs. You will work closely with HR colleagues, external vendors and carriers, managers, and business leaders to ensure our programs are competitive, effective, and compliant.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBenefits & Leave Administration\nAdminister day-to-day benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k)/retirement savings, wellness, etc.), including enrollments, changes, and terminations.\nProcess qualifying life events and open enrollment changes, confirming selections are entered accurately in the system and required paperwork is collected.\nAdminister leave of absence programs and resolve benefits claims related to disability, parental leave, and other leaves.\nServe as the main point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, explaining coverage options and resolving issues.\nMaintain employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.\nVendor & Carrier Coordination\nServe as liaison between the company and benefits carriers, consultants, and third-party administrators to gather data and understand plan dynamics.\nSubmit enrollment files and data feeds (EDI) to carriers and resolve feed errors.\nAudit and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and carrier billings.\nResearch and respond to escalated customer service issues with third-party administrators.\nCompliance & Reporting\nHelp ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ACA, and COBRA.\nAssist with ACA reporting and compliance tracking and support COBRA administration and notifications.\nPrepare and file required reports; maintain documentation for audits and government filings.\nOpen Enrollment Support\nHelp coordinate and execute the annual open enrollment process.\nPrepare employee communications, guides, and educational materials.\nTest and troubleshoot enrollment systems and portals.\nData, HRIS & Analysis\nObtain reports on benefits participation, costs, utilization, and trends in benefits usage.\nMaintain accurate employee benefits, demographic, and assignment data in the HRIS; identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity.\nResearch industry and employment trends, benchmark best practices, and track legislation and its potential impact.\nGather employee feedback (e.g., surveys, focus groups) to help inform benefit program recommendations.\nEmployee Education & Communication\nConduct benefits orientations for new hires.\nCreate and distribute communications on benefits programs, including announcements, FAQs, guides, and reference materials.\nCommunicate benefit changes, updates, and deadlines to employees.\nEducate and provide guidance to HR team members, managers, and employees on benefits processes and on new HRIS processes and tools.\nWhat You Bring:\nBachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).\n2-3+ years of benefits experience, including exposure to HRIS and benefits administration.\nWorking knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws and regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA).\nExperience with HRIS platforms (UKG experience preferred), including workflows, permissions, and processes.\nFamiliarity with benefits EDI/data feeds and resolving errors.\nStrong attention to detail and data accuracy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to run reports and interpret data.\nExcellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills for employee-facing interactions.\nExcellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel.\nAbility to work independently with some latitude for judgment on assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision.\nEmployer does not sponsor applicants for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status).\nGeneral Information: The above noted job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be assigned, but rather to give a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of the job.
