This position will be onsite at our client's Pontiac, IL facility working with their Manufacturing Engineering teams.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nEngineering Technician / CAD Drafter\nThese Engineering Technician and CAD Drafter positions provide hands-on exposure to engineering, manufacturing processes, CNC equipment, CAD drafting, tooling, and new manufacturing equipment. The selected candidates will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers while developing practical technical skills in an engineering and manufacturing environment.\nResponsibilities\nSupport Manufacturing Engineers with engineering and manufacturing projects.\nCreate and update technical drawings, layouts, models, and engineering documentation.\nDevelop detailed drawings and models for tooling, fixtures, equipment, and manufacturing processes.\nAssist with the development and maintenance of manufacturing process documentation.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.\nAssist with dimensional measurements, data collection, and analysis of manufacturing results.\nSupport installation and validation activities for new manufacturing equipment and processes.\nAssist with CNC equipment documentation, setup, and manufacturing support activities.\nConvert and update supplier drawings to meet engineering documentation standards.\nCollect and enter technical data and prepare reports, presentations, and summaries.\nSupport troubleshooting, process improvement, quality, and engineering activities.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and other technical team members to complete assigned projects.\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nInterest in engineering, manufacturing, drafting, machining, or another technical field.\nMechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, education, technical projects, STEM activities, hobbies, farm work, automotive work, or similar hands-on experience.\nAbility to read and understand basic technical drawings and documentation.\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to follow instructions and independently complete assigned tasks after training.\nAbility to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCAD drafting or 3-D modeling experience.\nExperience or coursework with AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or similar CAD software.\nExperience reading and interpreting technical drawings.\nAssociate degree, technical degree, certificate, or current enrollment in an engineering, drafting, manufacturing, machining, or related technical program.\nExperience with CNC equipment, machining, tooling, or manufacturing processes.\nExperience creating technical drawings, models, layouts, or engineering documentation.\nExperience using measurement tools and collecting dimensional data.\nExperience with basic statistical analysis or technical data collection.\nHands-on mechanical experience through employment, internships, STEM programs, technical education, or personal projects.\nInterest in developing a career in engineering, manufacturing, design, drafting, or another technical field.\nPay Range: commensurate with experience - $30,000-$40,000\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
