We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals using state-of-the-art tools and processes.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nManufacturing Engineer\nThe selected candidate will support the development and implementation of an advanced centrifugal casting process. This position combines hands-on manufacturing engineering, research and development, experimental execution, and production-process improvement.\nThe engineer will help establish manufacturing parameters, conduct design of experiments, document results, and improve process safety, traceability, quality, and production flow. Approximately 75% of the work will be performed in a shop-floor environment.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the development and implementation of centrifugal casting processes and associated manufacturing parameters.\nPrepare, inspect, and start manufacturing equipment for daily experimental activities.\nPlan, execute, and document design of experiments related to casting and manufacturing-process development.\nAnalyze experimental results and communicate findings, recommendations, and required process adjustments.\nApply structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes and resolve manufacturing issues.\nDevelop and improve manufacturing processes with an emphasis on safety, quality, cost, traceability, and production flow.\nCreate and maintain process documentation, experiment records, technical reports, and project updates.\nReview engineering drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.\nCollaborate with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and other cross-functional stakeholders.\nCommunicate equipment needs, technical roadblocks, safety concerns, and project risks to the appropriate team members.\nParticipate in regular project and leadership update meetings.\nCoordinate daily work and provide clear technical handoffs to team members working on subsequent shifts.\nSupport machining and other related manufacturing activities as project needs require.\nPerform hands-on work in an industrial foundry and shop-floor environment.\nTravel domestically as project needs require, up to 25%.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, and two or more years of relevant industrial experience.\nAn associate degree in a related technical field with at least four years of relevant experience may also be considered.\nDemonstrated commitment to manufacturing and workplace safety.\nExperience interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nFamiliarity with foundry, casting, or comparable industrial manufacturing processes.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong interest in hands-on engineering and manufacturing work.\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to document technical findings and clearly communicate process recommendations.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.\nAbility to work primarily on the shop floor while wearing required personal protective equipment.\nAbility to lift up to 35 pounds.\nAbility to work in proximity to industrial equipment and electromagnetic fields.\nAbility to travel domestically up to 25%.\nDesired Experience\nExperience supporting casting, foundry, or metal-processing operations.\nExperience developing or improving manufacturing processes.\nFamiliarity with machining processes and equipment.\nExperience planning and executing design of experiments.\nExperience collecting, analyzing, and presenting manufacturing or experimental data.\nExperience with Microsoft Power BI.\nExperience with Microsoft Power Apps.\nBackground supporting research and development activities in a production environment.\nExperience working with manufacturing equipment and production personnel on the shop floor.\nDemonstrated ability to convert experimental findings into practical manufacturing-process improvements.\nExperience developing processes focused on improved safety, single-piece flow, traceability, quality, and cost reduction.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $60,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
