Collaborate with a team of industry experts onsite at our client's world-class engineering center and contribute to developing innovative solutions that drive sustainable agriculture practices.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nSoftware Engineer - Test and Validation\nAs a Software Test Engineer, you will support the testing and validation of advanced software and electronic systems used in agricultural equipment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting complex systems, and working directly on machines in real-world operating environments.\nJob Responsibilities\nExecute field validation and testing activities for agricultural equipment software and electronic control systems.\nOperate and evaluate equipment in real-world agricultural environments.\nTroubleshoot software, hardware, electrical, and basic mechanical issues encountered during testing activities.\nCollect, analyze, and document test data to identify defects, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.\nWork closely with software developers, systems engineers, and test teams to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve issues.\nDevelop and execute test plans, test procedures, and validation reports.\nVerify software functionality against system and software requirements.\nUtilize engineering tools and scripting languages to automate testing and analyze data.\nSupport prototype machine builds, software installations, and system configuration activities.\nDocument test results, observations, and recommendations in a clear and professional manner.\nTravel to customer sites, proving grounds, farms, and test locations as required.\nMaintain a strong focus on safety while working with agricultural machinery and test equipment.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM-related engineering discipline.\nExperience with or academic exposure to Python and/or C++ programming.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex systems involving software, electronics, sensors, controls, and mechanical components.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nSelf-motivated, quick learner, and capable of working independently in the field.\nGood organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel as required.\nDesired Experience\nExperience with software testing, validation, or systems integration.\nFamiliarity with embedded systems and electronic control units (ECUs).\nExperience with agricultural, off-highway, construction, or industrial equipment.\nUnderstanding of CAN communication networks and J1939 protocols.\nExperience using data logging, diagnostic, or troubleshooting tools.\nKnowledge of Git, GitHub, or other version control systems.\nExperience creating automated test scripts using Python.\nFamiliarity with software development and Agile engineering processes.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $65,000-$90,000 - Commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
