UNIV DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRSBargaining Unit:\nNo\nMission of the Office of P20 Pathways\nThe City University of New York’s (CUNY) Office of P20 Pathways (formerly K16 Initiatives and Adult Pathways) drives systemic change by building strong and innovative partnerships that advance educational equity. Our mission is to empower New Yorkers to envision, prepare for, and realize successful futures through programs that dismantle structural barriers and expand college and career opportunities.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nServing over 100,000 students annually, CUNY P20 Pathways sits at the intersection of the nation’s largest public university and school system-CUNY and the NYC Public Schools (NYCPS)-providing a unique platform for impact.\nCUNY's Office of P20 Pathways advances curriculum-focused initiatives that connect academic credentialing to industry-specific skill development. This work spans teacher credentialing programs that prepare educators to deliver industry-aligned, college-level coursework, as well as apprenticeship and student credentialing programs that build pathways into specific high-need industries and translates workplace-based learning into recognized academic credit.\nReporting to the University Assistant Dean for P20 Pathways, the Manager of Dual Enrollment Credential and Course Alignment leads the development of new credentials and learning experiences, potentially courses, that support the expansion of college and career aligned dual credit courses. The role works directly with CUNY campuses and faculty, department chairs, and external training and credentialing partners to align learning pathways for students moving through a range of workforce, apprenticeship, and credentialing programs as well as programs for dual enrollment instructors. A central focus of the role is developing new credential pathways and aligning external training and credentialing programs with CUNY's existing Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) policies and processes, ensuring that competencies and skills gained through professional experience, on-the-job training, and workplace learning are recognized as academic credit. For example, the development of a dual enrollment instructor micro-credential for NYCPS teachers; or the creation of a dual enrollment aligned youth apprenticeship model. Ultimately, the role is designed to make the transition from workforce, apprenticeship, and credentialing programs into CUNY degree pathways or instructor roles more seamless for students and prospective instructors.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong working knowledge of workforce and apprenticeship training systems, higher education coursework related to work-readiness and career-connected learning, and specialized understanding of industry pathway design in high-need occupational fields. They are equally comfortable building relationships with CUNY faculty and department chairs and navigating the practical realities of NYCPS partnerships, civil service systems, and registered apprenticeship structures.\nWORK RESPONSIBILITIES\nCurriculum Design & Credentialing Alignment\nSupport the design and oversee credentialing curricula in various industry-aligned disciplines, including undergrad and graduate-level coursework, pedagogy training, and mentored teaching or practicum experiences that prepare instructors to deliver college-level, industry-connected coursework.\nPartner with CUNY faculty and department chairs to build and formally approve coursework that meets departmental instructional and hiring standards.\nFor some programs, coordinate recruitment, selection, and preparation of program participants in partnership with school and workforce partners, prioritizing high-need industry areas such as education, healthcare, technology, and sustainability/energy.\nTrack curriculum milestones, training completion, and instructor or participant placement, and support the ongoing recruitment of new participant cohorts.\nApprenticeship, Training & Industry Pathway Alignment\nAssess alignment between dual enrollment, early college, and workforce training coursework and the competencies required across apprenticeship and industry credentialing programs, identifying gaps and opportunities to strengthen alignment and reduce gaps at CUNY.\nBuild and maintain a structured inventory of CUNY courses, programs, and degrees mapped to occupation-specific and standardized competencies to support alignment and credit decisions.\nDevelop and formalize models for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), advanced standing, and course placement in alignment with the relevant CUNY policies and campus academic offices, ensuring participants in training, apprenticeship, and credentialing programs can access recognized academic credit.\nDevelop training pathway frameworks and learning sequences that connect applied and on-the-job training to CUNY coursework, with a focus on emerging and high-need industries.\nMaintain and periodically update career pathway and industry mapping resources that help students, advisors, and partners understand the connection between training programs, credentials, and CUNY degree pathways, micro-credentials or courses.\nStudent Transitions & Advising Support\nSupport the development of advising tools and resources that help students and program completers translate training, apprenticeship, or credentialing experience into CUNY coursework and degree progress.\nEngage CUNY campuses to assess interest, capacity, and readiness to host and enroll students transitioning from training and apprenticeship programs, and share findings with campus and P20 Pathways leadership.\nPartner with campus advising teams to ensure students moving from training programs into CUNY receive consistent, informed guidance on credit transfer and CPL options.\nSupport the design of bridge or introductory coursework that helps students without prior college exposure build the skills needed to succeed in credit-bearing coursework.\nProgram Development & Institutional Coordination\nServe as a key point of contact for training providers, industry partners, and school-system partners on curriculum-related questions and credit alignment.\nMaintain documentation of curriculum decisions, articulation and CPL agreements, and course inventories to support institutional continuity, audits, and future scaling.\nIdentify opportunities to expand and standardize the university's approach to credentialing and pathway alignment, particularly with school age youth, across additional industries and partner programs.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree\n5+ years of experience in curriculum development, workforce/apprenticeship training, career and technical education, or higher education program management\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in education, curriculum & instruction, workforce development, public policy, social work or a related field\nDemonstrated experience designing or aligning curriculum across secondary, postsecondary, and workforce/apprenticeship systems\nWorking knowledge of registered apprenticeship structures (Related Technical Instruction and On-the-Job Training requirements), civil service hiring systems, or NYC workforce development programs\nExperience building credit-for-prior-learning, articulation, or advanced-standing agreements within a higher education system\nFamiliarity with high-need industry pathways (e.g., healthcare, education, technology, sustainability/energy, skilled trades) and the competencies associated with them\nExperience working directly with faculty and academic departments to develop, revise, or gain approval for coursework\nExperience partnering with K-12 systems, particularly NYCPS, on dual enrollment or career pathway programming\nStrong project management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple curriculum workstreams simultaneously across institutions\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience translating technical curricular work for non-academic audiences (agency partners, funders)\nCommitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racist practices in education and organizational leadership\nCUNY TITLE OVERVIEW\nDirects operations and administrative functions of a specialized academic or K16 program under executive oversight.\nDesigns, implements, and monitors program operations plans across multiple program areas.\nAdministers administrative and data management functions in support of program development.\nOversees program/service data collection, reporting, and evaluation efforts in alignment with institutional and external accountability requirements.\nCultivates and maintains cross-program operational systems often serving as a primary liaison for operational coordination across program teams.\nPerforms related duties as assigned.\nPay Range:\nMinimum - Maximum:$105,000 - $110,000\nRFCUNY Benefits\nRFCUNY Employee Benefits and Accruals\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nThe Research Foundation
