Specialists will engage with employers in defining workforce needs, identifying hiring challenges and opportunities, specifying skills and proficiencies needed to fill available roles, and exploring partnerships to help grow New York’s emerging industries.\nBuild a Community:\nSecure partnerships with employers offering paid internship, clinical placement, and full-time\njob opportunities to students with target majors\nContinuously cultivate and grow employer relationships\nShare employment opportunities and, where appropriate, refer qualified students to employers for specific roles\nEstablish a Peer Network:\nCoordinate with other industry specialists, campus career offices and CUNY leadership\nmaximize industry partnerships benefiting the campus and to learn about student and employer needs\nCreate Pathways:\nSecure paid internships and full-time job offers within target majors for our newest graduates\nCommunicate and Improve:\nShare knowledge with faculty, advisors, and the broader campus to encourage alignment with in-demand skills\nParticipate in CUNY-wide training and events and utilize common tools deployed across the initiative\nOther duties as assigned.\nThis position is grant-funded and is currently funded through June 30, 2027. Subject to satisfactory performance, continued programmatic need, departmental priorities, and available funding, the appointment may be extended into the following fiscal year.\nReporting to the Program Director, the Industry Specialist will be part of the Human Biology Program at Hunter College.
