Accounting Manager Consultant

Our client, a growing industrial services organization, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead regional accounting operations and serve as a trusted financial partner to business leadership.

Work Location: 2-5 days onsite Chantilly, VA 20151

Duration: 3 months

Pay Rate Range: $80/hr-$90/hr

What You Will Work On

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for a regional office and support the local accounting team.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and cash-flow-related processes.
• Manage project accounting, job costing, margin analysis, and labor and equipment utilization reporting.
• Coordinate month-end close activities, review financial reports, and explain performance against plan.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to improve project visibility, profitability, and decision-making.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with accounting standards, customer contracts, and lien waiver requirements.
• Identify process improvements and help ensure accounting systems and workflows are used effectively.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in construction, industrial services, engineering, field services, or another project-based environment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, CCIP/ROCIP programs, or contractor accounting is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
