{"id":3298561,"url":"https://alion.io/job/rgp-senior-accountant-2","title":"Senior Accountant","company":{"id":1952804,"name":"RGP","domain":"rgp.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/rgp-com","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":true,"employer_type":"agency","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Avature","truth_index":null},"role":"Finance","role_family":"Finance","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Harvey, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":88000,"max_usd":169000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":5022},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":true,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Excel","optional":false},{"name":"Oracle ERP","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-26T22:45:02Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-26","last_verified_at":"2026-10-31T12:33:49Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":4,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":4},"description":"About This Role\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a one-year contract to provide maternity leave coverage and support the accounting operations of two Canadian entities.\nLocation: Harvey, IL | Chicago Area\nWork Arrangement: On-site initially | Hybrid - 3 days onsite\nDuration: 1 year\nWhat You Will Work On\nPrepare and post month-end closing journal entries and support the overall close process.\nPrepare volume rebate and commission accruals and process related payments.\nPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accuracy of account balances.\nPrepare and review financial statements, analyzing variances and investigating unusual fluctuations.\nCompile and coordinate Canadian tax and regulatory remittances, including HST, QST, EHT, WSIB, and tariff-related payments.\nAssist with annual and quarterly audit procedures.\nSupport cash planning, forecasting, and banking activities.\nPrepare and reconcile intercompany accounts.\nCoordinate and submit monthly and annual intercompany payments.\nReview tariff charges, investigate discrepancies, and work with Farrow to review credits and resolve issues.\nMaintain and update purchase order approval routings in JDE as required.\nPrepare and submit various Statistics Canada monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.\nAssist with the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns.\nProvide accounting and financial support to the Controller and other team members as needed.\nFollow all applicable company policies, including workplace conduct, safety, and harassment prevention policies.\nPerform other duties as required.\nWhat You Will Bring\nProven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar full-cycle accounting role.\nStrong knowledge of month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.\nExperience supporting Canadian accounting, tax remittances, and regulatory reporting is strongly preferred.\nExperience with JD Edwards (JDE) is preferred.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial data analysis.\nAbility to quickly learn and navigate financial systems, reporting tools, and other software applications.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret financial data efficiently.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and collaborate effectively with a broader finance team.\nFlexibility and adaptability when working through business changes and evolving priorities.\nWhat You Can Expect\nAn inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.\nCompensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors. \nTotal Rewards include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Professional Development Program, Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).\nWhat We Do\nAt RGP, we're creating a future where businesses produce their best work without constraints.
