Key responsibilities include:\nSafety & Compliance\nPromote a proactive safety mindset and help strengthen a culture of safety across all plants.\nEnsure equipment is designed, installed, and maintained in alignment with regulatory and company HSE standards.\nSupervise contractors and external engineering groups, ensuring full HSE compliance throughout project execution.\nProject Leadership\nDefine project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.\nIdentify and coordinate engineering interfaces (R&D, Quality Control, OES/Lean, etc.) to improve safety, product quality, and productivity.\nPartner with Production to drive improvements in safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.\nIdentify and prepare capital applications for new investment opportunities.\nDeliver projects on time and within budget, including forecasting, change order management, and reporting.\nProvide engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, risk assessments, estimates, and commissioning/startup plans.\nContinuous Improvement & Documentation\nDevelop and maintain a Management of Change (MOC) system.\nMaintain comprehensive project documentation for CapEx and OpEx initiatives throughout their lifecycle.\nCommunicate regularly with teams and stakeholders to provide updates, assign work, solve problems, and evaluate results.\nSupport maintenance through preventive maintenance planning, feedback loops, and participation in Root Cause Analyses.\nIdentify opportunities to improve operations and partner with plant leadership to implement solutions.\nDevelop Factory Acceptance Test criteria and work with Procurement to ensure Terms & Conditions meet technical requirements.\nLeadership & Performance\nBuild strong working relationships grounded in trust, transparency, and communication.\nMonitor and manage engineering KPIs, including Budget Adherence and Project Completion.\nMaintain close collaboration with the Head of Engineering - NAM regarding performance and CapEx opportunities.\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.\nMinimum 5 years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.\nMinimum 5 years of project management, project engineering, or process engineering experience.\nProven success managing projects over $500K.\nMinimum 5 years leading, developing, and coaching teams.\nStrong experience with data analysis, project/process management, and risk management.\nExperience developing and managing KPIs.\nDemonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and lead across functions.\nHealth, Safety & Work Environment\nPerform all work in alignment with RHI Magnesita’s Health & Safety policies and all applicable EHS/IMS regulations.\nWork may occur in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, wind, and other elements.\nAbility to walk, climb stairs/ladders, lift/carry up to 20 lbs, and operate various types of equipment in the field.\nAbility to operate standard office equipment (computers, phones, scanners, etc.).\nDomestic travel up to 25%, with occasional international travel possible.\nWho We Are\nRHI Magnesita is the leading global supplier of high-grade refractory products, systems and solutions which are critical for high-temperature processes in a wide range of industries.
