We've raised over $450M and are investing aggressively in model research, infrastructure, hardware development, and manufacturing scale-up to make generalist robotics a reality.\nRole Description:\nTier 2 Robot Pilots are trusted, high-output robot teleoperators who reliably collect high-quality\nmanipulation data using VR teleoperation systems. Pilots operate with minimal supervision,\nconsistently meet data throughput and quality standards, and can troubleshoot routine issues\n(such as basic software workflow and lab operating issues). They also support researchers with\nexecuting evaluation protocols and providing clear feedback on robot and model behavior.\nPrimary Duties\nCollect high-quality robot training data by teleoperating robotic systems using VR\nequipment and hand controllers; demonstrate manipulation tasks repeatedly and\nconsistently.\nMeet daily performance expectations for data collection throughput, quality, and\nconsistency (including correct task setup and complete metadata/notes).\nFollow task specifications and SOPs precisely, maintain discipline around experiment\nchanges and “what changed” between sessions.\nMaintain a safe work environment and adhere to lab safety procedures at all times.\nSupport evaluations by running structured evaluation protocols alongside researchers\nand accurately reporting results and issues.\nAdditional Tasks:\nTroubleshoot and report issues with robot hardware/software and teleop tooling, capture\nrelevant logs/notes and escalate with clear reproduction steps.\nPerform basic operational maintenance per SOP (workspace reset between sessions,\ncalibration checks, battery swaps or component swaps as required).\nReview/annotate recordings as needed (lightweight review for quality checks, labeling\nsupport, or spot audits).\nParticipate in process improvements to increase data collection efficiency, reduce\ndowntime, and improve data quality.\nOccasional travel to customer/partner sites (domestic & international) to support on-site\nrobot data collection, including operating in new environments, coordinating with site\ncontacts, and following site-specific safety and security requirements.\nOccasional weekend overtime data collection (maximum one day per weekend),\nbalanced with flexible scheduling and time off during the week.\nRequired Qualifications:\nStrong VR / controller proficiency (VR gaming or similar real-time control experience).\nAbility to maintain focus while operating in VR for extended periods and follow detailed\nwritten/video instructions.\nComfort working hands-on with robotics equipment in a lab environment; safety-minded\nand detail-oriented.\nComfortable with Linux / command line (running programs with arguments, checking\nlogs).\nAbility to debug routine issues and distinguish between environment/setup vs software\nvs hardware problems.\nAbility to write detailed bug reports when issues arise, document failure modes and\nparticipate in investigative efforts to diagnose and recover quickly.\nReliable attendance and punctuality;
