You will help leadership understand how revenue, delivery costs, hiring, and contract timing affect profitability and cash-and turn that understanding into actionable investment decisions.\nThis is an ownership role within a small but robust team, with substantial ownership from data collection through recommendations. You need to bring established FP&A skills, enjoy building with limited infrastructure, and be comfortable moving between detailed analysis and practical business decisions, all within a fast-paced environment. \nPlease note that this is a HQ-based role with a 4 days/week onsite policy in our Palo Alto office. Please do not apply if you cannot meet this requirement. \nWhat You’ll Own:\nBudgeting, Forecasting & Modeling\nAssist in the creation, maintenance, and execution of the annual corporate budget, partnering with department leaders on revenue, headcount, infrastructure, and operating expenses.\nUpdate and maintain monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts using integrated three-statement models covering the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.\nBuild driver-based forecasts connecting sales pipeline, contract start dates, implementation schedules, renewals, and expansion to financial performance.\nPerform scenario analysis and financial modeling to stress-test growth assumptions, including delayed awards, longer sales cycles, customer concentration, and accelerated hiring.\nRevenue \nMaintain clear visibility into bookings, annual recurring revenue (ARR), recognized revenue, billings, and cash collections, distinguishing recurring software revenue from implementation and services.\nPartner with Sales and customer teams to forecast renewals, expansion, churn, and pipeline conversion; explain changes in revenue performance and forecast confidence.\nIncorporate government contract funding, periods of performance, option-year assumptions, award timing, and invoicing milestones into forecasts.\nDistinguish funded commitments from potential contract value, and model the cash and resource implications of procurement or payment delays.\nSupport contract and deal reviews with pricing, margin, payment-term, and delivery-cost analysis.\nMonthly Variance Analysis\nConduct monthly actual-versus-budget and actual-versus-forecast variance analysis, explaining underlying drivers and identifying actions for business owners.\nReview general ledger details to identify misclassifications or unexpected spending trends, partnering with Accounting to resolve discrepancies.\nTrack corporate cash burn, working capital metrics, and primary efficiency ratios on a daily or weekly cadence, as appropriate.\nMaintain workforce models covering approved positions, hiring dates, compensation, benefits, contractors, and vacancies; partner with Recruiting and department leaders to keep assumptions current.\nFinancial Reporting & Dashboarding\nPrepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews that explain performance, forecast changes, and emerging risks in clear business terms.\nBuild, update, and maintain business intelligence (BI) dashboards tracking financial and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).\nProvide data-driven schedules, trend charts, and commentary for monthly business review decks and support board reporting.\nSystems \nClean and structure historical operational datasets to improve forecasting precision.\nSupport development projects, ROI analyses, pricing reviews, and unit economics updates, including product investments and expansion opportunities.\nIdentify and implement ways to automate manual data collection workflows and recurring reporting.\nHelp build the FP&A function’s core models, planning calendar, reporting standards, and tools, introducing useful structure as business needs evolve.\nWhat You Bring\nApproximately 3-5 years of relevant experience, including direct responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis, preferably in a small or midsize B2B SaaS company. Candidates with specific experience working in enterprise sales cycles or meaningful implementation and delivery costs is ideal.\nExperience working on lean teams, with personal ownership from gathering inputs and building models through presenting findings and following up with business owners and executives alike. \nAdvanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, experience building integrated three-statement and driver-based models, and strong accounting fundamentals. \nAn understanding of SaaS revenue mechanics and metrics, including ARR, retention, bookings, revenue recognition, and gross margin.\nExperience developing BI dashboards and reconciling financial and operational datasets; SQL and workflow automation skills are a plus.\nDemonstrated ability to build planning models, reporting, or processes from scratch and translate incomplete information into clearly documented assumptions.\nCreative problem-solving, flexibility, and sound judgment: you can adapt quickly while preserving accuracy, checking your work, and making uncertainty visible.\nStrong communication skills and the confidence to question assumptions constructively with technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.\nHelpful Additional Experience\nExposure to government-facing software businesses, federal procurement cycles, or contract-level financial analysis.\nExperience forecasting cloud or AI infrastructure costs, deployment economics, or customer-level profitability.\nSalary\nThis position has a salary range of $110,000 to $140,000.
