Candidates with start-up experience (particularly in SaaS) and/or AI defense contracting is highly desired. \nRoles and Responsibilities\nLead the design and development of our product’s backend systems, and translate software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software. We’re seeking deeply experienced “doers’ who can switch seamlessly between individual contributors and team leaders. \nWork closely with front-end developers to design and develop functional, performing, and complete APIs or GraphQL, and work tirelessly to define initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity, such as implementing automated test tools or new development methodologies within the team. \nLead code reviews and prepare (or guide) technical documentation, and ensure team members are contributing with speed and accuracy. \nDefine standards and processes to be followed during SDLC, and challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions!\nDesign and implement front-end components using React, ensuring a seamless user experience for web applications.\nDevelop back-end components using Node.js, writing scalable and efficient code. \nCollaborate with the UX/UI team to implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications.\nWrite clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and modern software development methodologies. \nImplement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. \nQualifications\nCandidates holding either a bachelors or masters degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related discipline are highly desired for this role. PhD’s are highly desirable! \n5+ years of experience in full-stack software development with a strong focus on Reach and Node.js. \nStrong system design skills with experience architecting scalable, high-performance software systems.\nExceptional knowledge of PHP (Back end), MySQL, relational database design, and able to pull data from databases/design user tables. \nStrong familiarity with HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, version control systems (Git, SVN), and Linux based web hosting systems/command-line interfaces.\nPrevious experience with MVC (Model View Controller) design patterns, preferably CodeIgnitor (CI) PHP framework. The ability to get up to speed on CI framework is highly desired. \nAwareness and understanding of product technical constraints, resources, scalability constraints, and security principles\nKnowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus. \nPersonality Traits:\nHas deep empathy for the end user and is excited to talk to customers to reach a deep understanding of requirements.\nAble to take customer requests and feedback and turn them into technical requirements for our product roadmap.\nCan verbalize several proposed solutions for a given problem. Earnest to collaborate, but defaults to action and can autonomously figure out the solution to a problem!\nIs opinionated but enjoys the benefits of being a generalist and not tied down to a specific language, framework, or part of our codebase.
