You will work closely with senior engineers to develop data pipelines, perform transformations, and support event-driven data workflows while continuously learning modern Azure data technologies. Our engineering workflow is AI-augmented - you will work alongside Agentic AI tools as part of daily development, so comfort with AI-assisted engineering is a core part of this role.\nKey responsibilities\nBuild and maintain data pipelines using Azure Synapse and Spark notebooks\nPerform data ingestion, transformation, and incremental loading from multiple sources\nSupport background processing and automation using Azure Functions\nWork with relational and NoSQL databases to model and manage data\nMonitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks\nUse AI coding assistants and Agentic AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development, testing, and documentation, while critically reviewing and validating AI-generated output\nEssential requirements\nExperience with Azure Synapse Analytics (Pipelines, SQL pools)\nHands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, or Cosmos DB\nGood SQL skills and basic data modelling knowledge\nUnderstanding of incremental loads, CDC, and performance tuning\nBasic knowledge of Azure security (Managed Identity, RBAC, Key Vault)\nAI proficiency: hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) in day-to-day engineering work - including effective prompting, and the judgment to verify AI-generated code and SQL before it ships\nDesired skills\nExposure to Microsoft Fabric or Delta Lake / Parquet formats\nBasic understanding of event-driven or asynchronous processing\nFamiliarity with CI/CD, Git, and collaborative development practices\nStrong logical thinking and willingness to learn\nExposure to Agentic AI workflows - AI agents that plan and execute multi-step engineering tasks - or agent frameworks (e.g., Claude Code / Agent SDK, Microsoft agent frameworks)\nFamiliarity with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI / Microsoft Foundry) or building LLM-backed features such as RAG over data platforms\nRIB may require all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment.
