Job Duties
The successful candidate must be able to read and write and must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. The position requires the ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds, as well as work in extreme atmospheric conditions, including dust, heat, and cold. Employees must be able to climb ladders and stairs for a significant portion of their work time.
Candidates must have good mechanical ability and an understanding of the inner workings of machinery. The employee must be able to work independently while also working effectively with other employees. Additional duties may be assigned by the manager as needed.
Preferred Skills
Mechanical experience and knowledge are preferred, along with previous experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment. Candidates should have strong logical and reasoning skills, particularly the ability to understand the movement of fluids through vessels and related processes.
The position requires the ability to move quickly under stressful conditions and make clear, concise decisions while working in the elements, including extremely high temperatures during the summer and cold conditions during the winter. A good understanding of computers and their use is also preferred.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate problems appropriately to management, including issues involving upstream and downstream conflicts and questions about processes. Effective communication and a willingness to ask questions are important for learning and developing the specialized skills required for the position.
Education Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is required. Two to four years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
