Welders are responsible for bracket installation and structural processes. Welders cut and join metals and other materials at our facility. Welders operate appropriate equipment to put together structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Welders’ job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Welder builds and repairs buses according to the process. Welder will be assigned to a bus to perform and repairs of interior and exterior fixtures and structures of the bus and follows work instructions pertaining.\nJOB DESCRIPTION \nWelds each stage of bus manufacturing and or bus repair according to processes\nMust be able to weld aluminum, metal, and stainless steel\nMust be able to drill, grind, sand, fabricate parts, disassemble, and reassemble in related to welding and general repairs\nMust be able to read blueprints and engineering change notices and follow instructions to complete plans and repairs\nUses measuring tape, levels, squares for installations based on Engineering documentation (metric is preferred)\nUse of standard hand tools where applicable\nUse of power tools such as electric and pneumatic tools where applicable\nUse of calibration tools\nDrilling and handling of material such as (fiberglass, plastics composites, mild steel and aluminum)\nInstallation and removal of fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets\nOccasionally apply adhesives and sealants to bus processes\nInstall and repair bus processes and use mechanical equipment to operational standards\nApplication of (MIG) welding techniques(preferred)\nProper use of electrical and gas functions on welding machine (preferred)\nCutting equipment such as plasma and acetylene cutter are occasionally used (preferred)\nSynthesizes complex or diverse information\nDemonstrates required skills\nUpholds organizational values\nAdapts to change in the work environment\nFollows instruction, responds to management direction\nDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness\nProper use of PPE and observes safety and security procedures\nOther duties as assigned\nSkills/Knowledge Required:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
