MUST HAVE 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN CASTER SETTING.\nThe Basics:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering\nMinimum of 5 years of experience working as an engineer, specialist, or similar position in a caster\nBasic technical knowledge of Caster\nStrong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nComputer skills to include SAP and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)\nThe Extras:\nAdvanced technical knowledge of Caster preferred\nTechnical knowledge of Melt Shop preferred\nTRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL\nHolds self and others accountable to meet commitments\nMakes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward\nTakes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm\nBuilds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives\nActively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder\nWHAT YOULL BE DOING\nMonitor and evaluate caster performance, including production, cost, and quality key performance indicators (KPI's); Identify appropriate countermeasures in case of non-achievement of KPI's\nOptimize Caster productivity, capacity, energy, and consumption by monitoring industry best practices for caster processes\nCollaborate with the Technology team to perform product trials; Provide process expertise to the technology team for improvement project implementation\nInterface and communicate with maintenance team members and other members of steel making facility, including EAF, LMF, RH, and Refractory\nWrite and update work instructions for casters operations; Organize related HIRAC review\nTake ownership to seek and correct issues generating slab non-quality\nCoordinate slab scarfing activities with scarfing contractor\nLead and support continuous improvement activities\nEnsure caster complies with environmental and safety regulations\nDemonstrate Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability\nLead/participate in incident root cause analysis and corrective actions for failures, including safety incidents, environmental deviations, quality deviations and production losses\nYOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT\nOffice and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility\nDuring first ~2 years, Construction setting\nGulf coast region in Calvert, AL\nDays, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads\nPeople with heart pacemakers or any there electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected.
