If you're an experienced controls designer seeking your next opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we'd like to talk.\nSuccessful candidates will have:\na post-secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or equivalent program \na minimum of 5 years of experience in the Controls and Automation industry \na professional and adaptable attitude; to keep learning and mentoring others \nExperience in performing the following role responsibilities is required: \nElectrical & Controls System Design:\nCreate complete electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and I/O documentation using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, of SolidWorks (2D and 3D)\nDevelop power distribution, motor control, safety circuits, and control panel designs in compliance with project requirements\nApply applicable electrical codes and standards (i.e. UL, IEC, CSA, etc.)\nDesign Standards & Documentation:\nEstablish, maintain, and enforce electrical design standards and best practices\nProduce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, terminal plans, and panel layouts\nEnsure drawings are complete, consistent, and ready for panel manufacturing, installation, and commissioning\nPerform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables\nProject Leadership & Coordination:\nAct as the technical lead for controls design on assigned projects\nCollaborate with team members, i.e. PLC programmers, account managers, and project managers\nSupport project quoting by providing design effort estimates, schedules, and technical input\nParticipate in design reviews with clients, vendors, and internal team members\nSoftware & Hardware Integration:\nCoordinate electrical design with PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, robotics, and safety system requirements\nSelect and specify electrical components, sensors, drives, and control hardware\nEnsure designs align with PLC I/O architecture and field device requirements\nManufacturing & Field Support:\nProvide technical support to panel shop during fabrication and wiring\nResolve design issues and implement revisions as needed during build and installation\nSupport commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities as required\nReview redlines and ensure final “as-built” documentation is accurate\nContinuous Improvement & Mentorship:\nIdentify opportunities to improve design efficiency and automation\nMentor other designers and provide technical guidance and design reviews\nStay current with evolving electrical standards, tools, and industry best practices\nSafety & Compliance:\nDesign systems with a strong focus on personnel safety and machine safeguarding\nSupport functional safety concepts and documentation where required\nEnsure all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements\nTeam Member Rewards & Recognition\nTeam Members receive hourly remuneration based on experience, between $45.96-$55.16 per hour. \nAdditional compensation for over time or double time, as approved to meet project requirements \nThis role is on-site, in-person at the Cambridge office; free parking, sit/stand desks, and other amenities provided\nFlexible start/end times as projects allow, based on a 40 hour work week, core hours to flex around are 9:00-3:30\nVacation Percentage & Personal Days that grow with years of service \nFully funded health, dental, and travel group benefits plan after 3 months of service \nWellness & Safety accounts available after 6 months of service \nPaid training, opportunities for development, GRSP matching program, profit sharing, and other team member programs \nJob Posting Details \nVacancy: New Role to Grow the Team \nRole re-posted to find the right candidate \nPosting Deadline: Tuesday, October 27th at 9:00am\nApplication & Hiring Process \nWe use BambooHR to manage applications received and follow up with candidates \nApplications are reviewed by a human.
