We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong exposure to the BFSI domain to work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, solution teams, and vendors. The role will focus on requirements gathering, process analysis, functional documentation, testing, UAT coordination, and issue resolution, acting as a bridge between business and technology teams.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills, and relevant experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements for application enhancements and projects.
- Prepare Business/Functional Requirement Specifications and translate business needs into clear requirements for technology teams.
- Understand existing business processes, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and propose process enhancements.
- Act as a communication bridge between business users, application teams, solution teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test plans based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform application readiness, integration, and functional testing and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Monitor UAT progress, track defects, coordinate resolutions, and ensure timely closure of testing activities.
- Investigate and analyze user-reported application issues, identify root causes, and work with technical teams to implement appropriate solutions.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirement discussions, walkthroughs, and status reviews.
- Provide regular updates on requirements, testing, issues, dependencies, and project progress.
- Support project planning, timelines, coordination, and vendor management activities where required.
- Evaluate new ideas and proposed changes for business and technical feasibility.
- Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and improve application efficiency and user experience.
- Maintain functional documentation, process flows, test evidence, issue logs, and other project artefacts.
- Ensure requirements and solutions align with applicable business, security, compliance, and governance standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 - 8 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a similar functional analysis role.
- Hands-on experience working in the BFSI domain, preferably Insurance or Financial Services.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, business analysis, process modelling, and functional documentation.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Good knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience in preparing test scenarios/plans, coordinating testing, managing defects, and supporting UAT.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technical teams.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured approach to issue investigation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Good understanding of application support, enhancements, and project delivery environments.
- Experience with project coordination and vendor management is preferred.
- Exposure to Java and web technologies would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of documentation, reporting, and issue-tracking tools.
- Strong team-oriented, adaptable, proactive, and delivery-focused approach.
