With our live production tools for the media, sports, entertainment and corporate industries, we deliver a wide range of high-quality and state-of-the-art products that are among the most innovative of their kind in the industry.\nJoin us as Senior Platform System Engineer - COTS (m/f/d) on this exciting journey and experience the fascination of Riedel Communications in action.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES\nOwn and evolve the COTS hardware platform foundation for RIEDEL's live video production systems used worldwide.\nEvaluate, qualify, and optimize system architectures and interactions between compute (CPU/GPU), video, networking, storage, operating systems, and application workloads.\nTranslate product and software requirements into high-performance, reliable, ruggedized, and manufacturable platform solutions.\nConfigure and tune Windows and Linux systems for demanding real-time video and audio workloads, including SMPTE ST 2110 environments.\nDefine and execute qualification strategies for performance, thermal behavior, reliability, and lifecycle readiness.\nDevelop and maintain validated platform configurations, system images, firmware baselines, and deployment standards.\nDrive hardware lifecycle management, component selection, supplier alignment, and platform transition strategies.\nAct as the technical expert for platform hardware, collaborating closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams.\nTHAT'S YOU\nA university degree in a technical discipline or a relevant vocational training paired with professional experience\nSeveral years of hands-on experience designing, building, qualifying, or troubleshooting complex PC and server platforms\nStrong understanding of system architectures and the interaction between compute (CPU/GPU), audio, networking, storage, operating systems, and application workloads\nProven ability to analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize Windows and/or Linux platforms\nExperience documenting technical findings and converting them into robust, reproducible engineering solutions\nBackground in product engineering, IT infrastructure, broadcast technology, high-performance computing, embedded systems, or similar performance-critical environments\nExperience with real-time media processing, broadcast video workflows, virtualization, hardware lifecycle management, or ruggedized systems is a strong advantage\nFluent English and German skills in combination with a collaborative, hands-on mindset and a passion for solving complex technical challenges\nWE OFFER\nMore than just a salary - your plus at RIEDEL\nLook forward to 30 days of vacation and many additional offers - from JobRad to exclusive employee discounts, corporate benefits and our company pension scheme.\nFlexibility that suits your life\nWhether you're an early riser or a night owl - our flexible working hours system and the option of mobile working in the hybrid model ensure a real work-life balance.\nSupport in every situation\n\"meinEAP\" offers you helpful services - e.g. for childcare, caring for relatives or for your physical and mental well-being.\nRecharge your batteries - from coffee to lunch\nA real treat: our own coffee roast - free of charge at the in-house coffee bar, just the way you like it.
