If you are excited about this role, or about our company in general, we would love to hear from you!\nAs a Software QA Engineer, whilst being technical and hands-on capable, you will oversee and input to all aspects of quality assurance including applying industry best practices, developing new testing solutions and methods, and establishing metrics. Managing the successful delivery of projects will require you to plan, coordinate and lead activities across the full delivery lifecycle. This will include working closely with the department’s Product Managers, coordinating with QA and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required.\nThis role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business.\nMajor Responsibilities \nFollow and evolve QA processes to ensure the use of industry-accepted best practices.\nDevelop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures including regressions tests.\nEnsure effective and efficient application of test processes and tools using techniques such as White box, Grey Box, Black box, Test-to-Pass, Test-to-Fail\nTroubleshoot and investigate defects for the software applications.\nReport defects found during testing using Jira as a defect tracking tool.\nConduct new functionality and regression tests, determine and report issues for follow-up.\nCollaborate with the business to assess or diagnose problems and suggest possible solutions.\nSupport end users during User Acceptance Testing phase.\nBuild and maintain good communication with all stakeholders involved in the SDLC while working close with them during the different phases.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nThere is a strong possibility that this role will also take on Scrum Master responsibilities, which may account for approximately 10 to 20 percent of the overall workload. These responsibilities may include facilitating Scrum ceremonies, supporting sprint planning and retrospectives, removing impediments, and helping the team continuously improve its delivery practices.\nPrior experience as a Scrum Master is not required, although it would be considered an advantage. What is essential is a willingness to learn and develop Scrum facilitation skills with the support and guidance of peers.\nQualifications, Skills & Experience\nMinimum of 5 years working in a similar role\nExperience in software business analysis and/or software quality assurance.\nExperience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).\nGood understanding of using Postman or similar tools for testing APIs\nAbility to troubleshoot issues and manage priorities effectively\nAbility to create future-proof reusable test cases\nComfortable working with remote teams\nExcellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks\nAble to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges\nPossess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that supports production and maintenance level changes\nComfortable working without routine supervision\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nRightShip is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity, enables access and promotes inclusion in our workplace.
