The world’s leading institutional investors, asset managers, and service providers rely on Rimes to help them make better investment decisions that power more than US$ 75 trillion in AUM annually.\nThe Opportunity:\nRimes is looking for a BI Developer to help own the Microsoft Fabric platform behind our internal reporting. It brings together data from multiple systems and feeds the Power BI reports used across the business. Reporting to the Head of BI, you will make the platform more robust, move older pipelines onto our layered architecture, and keep the semantic models on top of it healthy. As those foundations go in, you will help us move towards AI-mediated development, with more of our pipelines built by AI.\nCore Responsibilities: \nFabric Development: Build and maintainthe dataflows, pipelines and lakehousesbehind the platform, and deliver new sources and fields for stakeholders. \n Robust Ingestion: Strengthen the Power Query (M) that loads data from REST APIs, with dependable pagination, retries and incremental loads, so that failures are caught rather than passed downstream. \nPlatform Operations: Own scheduled refreshes and pipeline runs, fix failures at their root, and add alerting and data-quality checks. \nSecurity and Access: Move credentials into managed connections and secret storage, andmaintain workspace access and row-level security. \nSemantic Model Upkeep: Keep the Power BI semantic models healthy as the data layer changes:fix refreshes, repoint sources, and maintainDAX measures and relationships. \nMigration and Simplification: Move older pipelines onto our layered architecture, replace copied logic with shared components, and retire what is no longer needed. \nRelease Management: Introduce source control, deployment pipelines and separate development and production environments. \nDocumentation: Write runbooks and design notes so that anyone on the team can support the platform. \nPlatform Evolution: Help move transformation logic into SQL and Python in Fabric notebooks where it makes the platform easier to maintain. \nAI-Mediated Development: Use AI tools in your day-to-day work, and build the standards, templates and checks that let AI build and change pipelines safely.\nRequirements: \nCore Experience \n3-5 years in BI development or data engineering, mostly on the Microsoft data platform. \nExperience supporting production pipelines and semantic models, including fixing failures at their root cause. \nExperience taking over and improving solutions built by others. \nA methodical, ownership-minded approach and clear communication. \nA genuine interest in AI-assisted development and where it adds the most value. \nTechnical Skills \nMicrosoft Fabric: Hands-on with Dataflow Gen2, Data Pipelines, Lakehousesand OneLake. \n Power Query (M): Strong M; comfortable debugging and optimising complex queries written by others. \nREST APIs: Pagination, rate limits, OAuth and token authentication, and incremental loads. \n Semantic Models and DAX: Star schemas, relationships, storage modesand row-level security, with good DAX (filter context and iterators) to read, fix and extend measures. \nOnly selected candidates will be contacted for interviews.
