Joining Rimkus means being part of a team that’s shaping the future of the built environment-one smart, resilient solution at a time.\nRequirements\nDuties and Responsibilities\nLead and oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of building sciences engineering projects.\nCollaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to integrate building science principles into the design process for various types of construction projects, such as residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.\nPerform on-site evaluations and assessments of existing buildings to identify potential concerns.\nAnalyze and interpret building condition assessments to identify areas of concern and implement corrective measures.\nStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in building science, green building technologies, and code standards.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.\nPrepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and work with the Business Development team to prepare proposals for building science projects.\nMeasuring of building dimensions and quantifying on site and from drawings\nInterpretation and hand drawing of in-situ construction details. \nClient interfacing, as required.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge in areas related to building science such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, and psychometrics.\nUnderstanding of building construction, including methods, materials, and systems is required.\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation.\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment.\nDemonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.\nSelf-motivating and able to multi-task.\nAbility to act with business integrity and professionalism.\nAbility to provide leadership to junior engineers and technicians.\nRequired Education, Experience, and Certifications\nMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a focus on Building Science. \nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.\nMinimum of 5+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on projects related to Building Science. \nExperience with client relations.\nValid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.\nThe Salary Range for this position is $100,000 - $124,000CAD and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVEL\nPhysical Demands - Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client’s office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.\nOvertime - This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch.
