We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Broadcast / IT Engineer to support our New York operations and help drive technical excellence across broadcast and IT systems.\nPosition Summary\nThe Broadcast / IT Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day engineering operations, technical facilities, broadcast infrastructure, and local IT support for the New York market. This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable 24/7 television and radio operations while supporting corporate technology initiatives.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Engineering on strategic projects, capital improvements, regulatory compliance, and technology modernization efforts. The role also partners with the Corporate IT team to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop, network, and end-user support.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering Operations\nLead day-to-day engineering operations for the New York market.\nServe as the primary engineering liaison to local station management and the Head of Engineering.\nMaintain engineering documentation, technical diagrams, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset inventories.\nMonitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve technical issues.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation and respond to technical emergencies as needed.\nBroadcast Operations\nMaintain and troubleshoot studios, master control, production systems, routing infrastructure, and monitoring systems.\nSupport and maintain WideOrbit Automation and Master Control systems.\nSupport Zixi IP transport and contribution/distribution workflows.\nMaintain AudioVault and Zetta radio automation platforms.\nSupport live broadcasts, special events, and remote productions.\nInstall, configure, and maintain broadcast equipment and associated infrastructure.\nRF & Transmission Systems\nMaintain television and AM/FM transmission facilities.\nSupport RF systems, microwave STL paths, antennas, HD Radio equipment, and related transmission infrastructure.\nTroubleshoot and repair transmitter and signal chain issues.\nMaintain generators, UPS systems, HVAC systems, EAS equipment, captioning systems, and program delivery systems.\nCoordinate with vendors, tower crews, contractors, and utility providers when necessary.\nInformation Technology\nProvide local desktop and end-user support for station personnel.\nSupport Windows workstations, printers, mobile devices, and conferencing systems.\nAssist with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and user account administration.\nSupport local network infrastructure including switches, routers, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.\nCoordinate with Corporate IT on cybersecurity initiatives, endpoint management, software deployments, and user onboarding/offboarding activities.\nAssist with troubleshooting and escalation of network, server, and workstation issues.\nProjects & Compliance\nLead facility upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure modernization projects.\nAssist with budgeting, capital planning, and vendor management.\nEnsure compliance with FCC, FAA, EAS, OSHA, and company engineering standards.\nMaintain accurate records and documentation required for regulatory compliance.\nSupport disaster recovery, business continuity, and technical resiliency initiatives.\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of broadcast engineering experience in television and/or radio operations.\nStrong knowledge of broadcast systems, signal flow, RF transmission, automation, and production environments.\nExperience supporting Windows-based desktop and network environments.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex technical issues across both broadcast and IT systems.\nExperience managing projects and coordinating vendors and contractors.\nAbility to lift equipment and work in technical facilities, transmitter sites, and rooftop environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with WideOrbit Automation, Master Control, and Traffic systems.\nExperience with Zixi, AudioVault, and Zetta platforms.\nKnowledge of IP-based broadcast workflows and SMPTE 2110 environments.\nExperience with Cisco, Ubiquiti, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, and endpoint management solutions.\nPrior experience supporting television and radio transmission systems.\nSociety of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Certification preferred.\nMediaCo is an Equal Opportunity
