Stibo DX is a market leader In digital asset management, content creation, and publishing platforms for the media industry.\nEvery day, more than 800 media brands across five continents rely on Stibo DX’s platforms to create and publish content. Their systems ensure efficient and consistent publishing of more than 600 websites and thousands of daily print publications worldwide. You will work in a distributed new team from our office in Málaga.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDefine and govern the unified API strategy for CUE (REST and GraphQL), design standards, versioning, deprecation, breaking-change discipline, and consistency across teams.\nDesign integration patterns for a modular, microservices-based platform, sync vs async, anti-corruption layers, adapters, and migration from bespoke customer integrations to standardized platform interfaces; guide teams on when to use events vs APIs and how to avoid tight coupling.\nOwn event-driven architecture on Kafka, topic design, event contracts, schema evolution, CDC/streaming, and consistency models (ordering, idempotency, replay).\nEstablish data domains and governance, ownership models, schema definition and evolution, metadata, lineage, quality, classification, retention, and compliance readiness.\nAlign contracts with domain boundaries, connect bounded contexts, domain events, and service ownership to API, event, and data design, in close collaboration with the Software Architect.\nEnable teams through architecture leadership, produce reference architectures and integration blueprints, shepherd ADRs, review high-risk designs, and coach teams on better patterns without blocking delivery.\nReduce fragmentation and drive consolidation, identify one-off approaches early and steer teams toward reusable platform standards.\nPartner across architecture and delivery, work with platform, product, and engineering teams to ensure standards are usable, adopted, and durable.\nWhat you'll bring\n10+ years in software/data engineering or architecture, with 5+ years in a senior role focused on integration, APIs, events, and/or data architecture\nProven experience designing and governing APIs in large, distributed, multi-team environments\nStrong experience with REST and GraphQL API design, versioning, and contract-first approaches\nHands-on experience with event-driven architecture in production, preferably Kafka\nExperience with integration patterns: messaging, pub/sub, request/reply, outbox, saga/process manager, and CDC\nStrong understanding of schema modeling and schema evolution for APIs and events\nExperience defining data domains, ownership models, and data governance in a product or platform context\nAbility to connect DDD concepts (bounded contexts, domain events, aggregates) to integration and data design\nUnderstanding of AWS, Kubernetes-based platforms, and multi-tenant SaaS implications for data isolation and integration boundaries\nSecurity-aware design across APIs and events, authentication, authorization, zero-trust principles\nNice to have\nMedia, publishing, CMS/DAM, or content-heavy platforms\nAPI gateways, developer portals, or API catalog tools\nData catalog, lineage, or metadata management tools\nGraphQL federation or unified API platform strategies\nAnalytics/AI data pipelines or workflow automation data needs\nPersonal qualities\nStrong sense of ownership for platform-wide standards, contracts, and outcomes\nProactive in identifying fragmentation, risks, and improvement opportunities across teams and products\nClear communicator who can explain complex integration and data concepts in practical, understandable terms\nCollaborative and credible with engineers, architects, product owners, and senior stakeholders\nPragmatic, balances strong standards with risk-based governance and delivery needs\nCurious, adaptable, quality-conscious, and motivated by contract clarity, data ownership, maintainability, and long-term platform coherence\nWhat we offer\nBeing part of dynamic and highly motivated international multicultural team of skilled professionals.\nCompetitive compensation package.\nFlexible working model: hybrid\n23 holiday days.\nFlexible schedules with core working hours.\nPrivate health insurance from day 1.\nGym Sponsorship.\nEnglish and German language classes.\nA young and ambitious team that knows when to work but also when to have fun (Pizza day, Summer event, Malaga Tech Games, etc).\nDo you feel like applying?
