We now have a permanent position for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, to join our Services and Scrubbing team at Boyne Smelter, Gladstone.\nOur Team is responsible for keeping the scrubbing, conveyor, electrical, instrumentation and control systems running safely and reliably so the smelter can maintain production and environmental performance.\nLiving in Gladstone offers the perfect balance combining all of the services and facilities that you expect from a city with a relaxed coastal lifestyle - incredible beaches, easy access to visit world class reefs and national parks.\nRoles and responsibilities:\nReporting to the Team leader, and working a 9 Day Roster, you role will involve:\nTroubleshooting, calibrating, repair and service of fixed plant electrical assets which includes Conveyors, Scrubbers, fume extraction equipment, Instrumentation and Analysers, power distribution and switchgear equipment. \nMaintaining and replacing electrical equipment \nExecution of planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance \nCalibrate, repair and service instruments measuring process conditions. \nWork on PLCs, instrumentation, motor drives (VSDs), MCCs and control systems. \nAbility to work effectively both within a team and independently. \nPromote opportunities to improve safety and performance. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.\nActivities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship.
