People who thrive in fast paced environments, communicate clearly, and bring relentless focus to efficiency and execution.\nAbout the role\nThe Electrical Maintenance Supervisor leads the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure supporting a data center. This role supervises maintenance personnel and contractors, ensures electrical systems are maintained in accordance with safety requirements and operational procedures, and helps sustain continuous availability of critical services.\nWhat you'll be doing\nSupervise electrical maintenance technicians. Coordinate daily assignments, priorities, schedules, and coverage. Train, coach, and evaluate team members, and promote a strong safety culture.\nDirect preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for:\nUtility service entrances and switchgear\nMedium- and low-voltage distribution\nUPS systems and battery banks\nEmergency generators and transfer equipment\nPDUs, remote power panels, and busway\nTransformers, breakers, panelboards, grounding, and lighting\n\nStay prepared for planned maintenance, switching, equipment failures, utility interruptions, and other critical incidents. Take part in the on-call rotation and respond to critical events.\nReview and enforce maintenance procedures, MOPs, EOPs, and SOPs. Lead electrical switching with the proper controls, approvals, documentation, and communication.\nMake sure all work follows applicable electrical codes, regulations, site safety requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.\nWork with operations, facilities, engineering, vendors, and contractors to schedule maintenance and minimize risk to data center availability. This applies primarily when the Electrical Maintenance Manager/Superintendent is absent.\nMonitor equipment condition, alarms, trends, and maintenance records to spot reliability risks and recurring issues. Investigate incidents, failures, near misses, and service-impacting events. Document findings and implement corrective actions.\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment histories, inspections, testing, spare parts, and compliance documentation.\nSupport commissioning, testing, turnover, and operational acceptance of new electrical systems, upgrades, and expansions.\nHelp manage contractor performance, review work quality, verify completion, and ensure adherence to site procedures.\nHelp with spare-parts planning, inventory, maintenance budgeting, and procurement of electrical materials and services.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat you'll have\nAssociate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in electrical maintenance, power systems, industrial facilities, or critical environments.\nDemonstrated experience maintaining electrical distribution and backup-power systems.\nPrior supervisory, lead, or coordination experience in a maintenance, facilities, industrial, mission-critical, or data center environment.\nWorking knowledge of electrical safety practices, including arc-flash awareness, energized-work controls, and lockout/tagout.\nAbility to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical drawings.\nStrong troubleshooting skills related to power distribution, UPS systems, generators, transfer switches, breakers, and control systems.\nAbility to prioritize work effectively in a high-availability, operationally sensitive environment.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document incidents and coordinate work across teams.\nPhysical requirements and work environment\nMust be physically able to climb ladders and access tight or awkward spaces as required.\nMust be able to bend, reach, stoop, and pull, with good manual dexterity.\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods\nAbility to lift and move equipment as needed (50 Pounds)\nAbility to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)\nExposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures\nSafety Requirements\nPPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots).\nHazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.\nStandards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.\nOrganization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents.\nCompensation and Benefits\nSalary commensurate with experience. \n401(k) retirement plan: Incudes a generous company match.\nComprehensive health coverage: Multiple medical plan options, including 100% company-paid plans, HAS & FSA.\nWork-life balance: Paid time off, sick time and floating holidays.\nWellness & lifestyle perks: Enjoy free gym memberships, pet insurance, childcare discounts, employee assistance program, and more to support your life both in and out of work.\nRiot is an equal opportunity employer.
