This role will focus on protecting sensitive company information, intellectual property, and critical business data while enabling the secure adoption of emerging AI technologies.\nThis is a highly technical, hands-on engineering position responsible for building scalable, automated security controls across Microsoft 365, endpoints, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and AI environments. As Riot continues expanding into AI/HPC infrastructure, this engineer will play a critical role in strengthening enterprise data security, reducing information exposure, and enabling secure innovation.\nThis position will be hybrid based in our Austin office.\nWhat you'll do\nDeploy and tune Microsoft Purview DLP, Endpoint DLP, and sensitivity labeling to protect data across Microsoft 365 and endpoints.\nAutomate discovery and classification of sensitive data, partnering with data owners to turn requirements into enforceable controls.\nSecure AI applications, LLMs, RAG systems, and AI agents against risks such as prompt injection and data leakage.\nReduce exfiltration risk with DLP policies covering personal email, cloud storage, removable media, browsers, and unapproved AI tools.\nInvestigate data security alerts and partner with Security Operations and Incident Response to contain incidents.\nAutomate policy deployment and reporting, integrating Purview with Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, and SIEM.\nSupport AI vendor assessments and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance by mapping controls to industry frameworks.\nWhat you'll have\nBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.\n7+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, including 3+ years hands-on with Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments.\nAdvanced Purview expertise: DLP, Endpoint DLP, information protection, sensitivity labeling, Insider Risk Management, and DSPM.\nStrong understanding of AI security, including generative AI, LLMs, Copilot, AI agents, and RAG architectures.\nProficiency in PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph, and REST APIs; familiarity with CrowdStrike and Zscaler.\nKnowledge of NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.\nStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead complex projects independently.\nPreferred: Microsoft security certification (e.g., SC-401) and cloud, AI/HPC, or data center experience.\nCompensation and Benefits\nCompetitive Salary: Base range (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant. \nLong-Term Growth: Eligible to participate in Riot’s equity incentive programs and share in the success you help build. \n401(k) Retirement Plan: Incudes a generous company match. \nComprehensive Health Coverage: Multiple medical plan options, including 100% company-paid plans. \nWellness & Lifestyle Perks: Enjoy free gym memberships, pet insurance, childcare discounts, and more to support your life both in and out of work. \nRiot is an equal opportunity employer.
