If you are based near Cheltenham, you are more than welcome to work from our office at any time.\nTeam mission:\nOur team enables the delivery of high-quality software to a variety of environments through technical skills, process implementation and software management, anchored in a continuous innovation culture.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nAs a DevOps Engineer at Ripjar you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of the infrastructure that underpins our development and operational services. You will play an active role in supporting and continuously improving our core infrastructure offering, providing a solid foundation upon which we can deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers.\nKey tasks:\nAutomate the deployment, operation and maintenance of systems in a hybrid cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling.\nAdminister systems and applications hosted on Linux-based systems.\nDesign, deploy and maintain IP networks.\nCreate robust automated solutions to allow development teams to self-serve routine infrastructure requests.\nImprove code security by integrating security testing tools into build and deployment pipelines.\nImplement effective monitoring of the reliability and security of applications and infrastructure services.\nRequirements\nThe successful candidate should have these skills:\nWe recognise that demonstrable skills in all these technologies is not easy to find. We can work in partnership to identify your strengths and provide you with the training necessary to fill any gaps.\nStrong experience of administering and securing Linux hosts on both virtual and physical infrastructure.\nExtensive experience using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling, e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Helm.\nExperience of configuring, managing and securing public cloud infrastructure, e.g. AWS, Azure.\nExperience of administering containerised applications using Kubernetes and Docker.\nExperience of administering IP networking in a corporate environment.\nExperience of automating tasks using languages and tools such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, and GitHub Actions.\nKnowledge of how to effectively use security testing and monitoring tooling, e.g. SAST and SIEM products.\nKnowledge of how to configure monitoring tooling for application and infrastructure metrics, e.g. Prometheus, Datadog, Open Telemetry \nCandidates with the following background will be of particular interest:\nExperience contributing to incident response across a complex microservice-based application\nApplication Security best practice including
