Guided by our STRIDE values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused on a culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.\nWhat You'll Do\nReporting to the Construction Manager, the Equipment Operator is responsible is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment on construction job sites on a variety of machinery including, but not limited to dozers, excavators, lift trucks, high-reach equipment and screeners. The Equipment Operator is also responsible for conducting pre-operational inspections, ensures equipment is maintained and operating safely, and reports any issues to management.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:\nOperate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites\nMove and place materials such as fill, sand, and gravel using equipment such as backhoes or excavators when required\nConduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance needs\nFollow all company and site safety policies, procedures, and regulations\nWork safely around underground utilities, overhead power lines, and congested work areas\nOperate heavy equipment with various attachments, including shears, buckets, and pulverisers, as required\nFollow direction from the Site Supervisor and collaborate with the site crew to complete tasks safely and efficiently\nEnsure required documentation and paperwork for equipment units is maintained and available\nAdditional Information\nThis position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks.\nSchedule\nSchedule rotations range from 4 days on / 3 days off , 8 days on / 6 days off, 5 days on / 2 days off, etc.\nStandard workdays are 10 hours (7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) \nOvertime paid at time and a half after 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week \nOut-of-town work includes either all-inclusive camp accommodations or LOA and individual accommodations (project dependent) \nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nClass 5 Drivers License with a clean Driver’s Abstract\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nMinimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment\nMechanically inclined and basic knowledge of maintaining equipment such as greasing and fueling \nAbility to perform basic welding for small repairs is considered an asset \nSafety certifications such as CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS are considered assets\nBenefits\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation with weekly pay periods \nOvertime opportunities (project dependent) \nGenerous paid time off \nRRSP-DPSP employer matching, increasing with years of service \nComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and disability) \nCompany-paid safety training \nAnnual PPE allowance provided for field-based employees (post-probation) \nOut-of-town work includes either all-inclusive camp accommodations or LOA and individual accommodations (project dependent) \nTravel time to and from site will be paid at base rate, and travel provided by employer (project dependent) \nOngoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities \nEmployee Assistance Program (confidential counselling support) \nEmployee Referral Bonus Program \nWhy Rising Edge Group?\nSafety & Excellence: Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
