Guided by our STRIDE values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.\nWhat You'll Do\nThe US Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and tax compliance activities for the U.S. business. This role works collaboratively with the Canadian Financial Controller to ensure the integrity of financial information, compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulations, and support executive leadership with accurate and timely financial insights. The Controller partners closely with Operations to maintain a strong control environment and support organizational growth.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: \nFinancial Reporting & Accounting\nDrive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.\nPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.\nEnsure accuracy and completeness of general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.\nDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nAnalyze financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances, trends, and key performance indicators.\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.\nInternal & External Audit Support\nServe as the primary point of contact for auditors.\nCoordinate annual financial statement audits and periodic reviews.\nManage audit requests and ensure timely delivery of supporting documentation.\nMonitor and remediate audit findings and control deficiencies.\nMaintain documentation and evidence supporting compliance with internal control frameworks.\nPartner with business leaders to strengthen governance and control processes.\nRegulatory Compliance\nEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements.\nMonitor changes in accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements and assess business impacts.\nOversee maintenance of statutory records and regulatory filings.\nCollaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams to address emerging regulatory matters.\nTax Compliance\nOversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes.\nCoordinate preparation and filing of income, sales and use, property, franchise, and other applicable taxes.\nPartner with external tax advisors and service providers on tax reporting and planning matters.\nEnsure accurate tax accounting, tax provisions, and supporting schedules.\nSupport tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities.\nIdentify opportunities to improve tax processes and strengthen compliance controls.\nLeadership & Business Partnership\nBuild out US team to support business growth\nLead, develop, and mentor accounting and finance team members.\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.\nPartner with business leaders to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.\nDrive process improvements, automation initiatives, and best practices across finance operations.\nSupport special projects as needed.\nAdditional Information\nAs a condition of employment, candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening including professional reference checks and a criminal record check.\nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.\nCPA designation strongly preferred.\nMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.\nExperience\n8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.\n3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.\nStrong experience with financial reporting, external audits, and regulatory compliance.\nExperience overseeing U.S. tax compliance and working with external tax advisors.\nExperience in a multi-entity or complex business environment preferred.\nPublic accounting experience is desirable.\nTechnical Skills\nAdvanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP.\nStrong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements.\nKnowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.\nExperience with ERP systems (Vista by Viewpoint preferred).\nAdvanced Excel and financial analysis skills.\nExperience with financial reporting and consolidation systems preferred.\nCompetencies\nStrong leadership and people management skills.\nExceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across functions and with senior leadership.\nBenefits\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation with weekly pay periods \nGenerous paid time off \n401(k) employer matching \nComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental and vision) \nCompany-paid safety training \nOngoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities \nEmployee Family Assistance Program (confidential counselling support) \nEmployee Referral Bonus Program \nWhy Rising Edge Group?\nSafety & Excellence: Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
