Guided by our STRIDE values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.\nWhat You'll Do\nReporting to the Director of Pre-Construction, the role of the Lead Estimator is to oversee the technical reviews with estimators on proposals and prepare complete electrical, structural and civil cost estimates. The Lead Estimator will lead the Regional Estimating team as per the direction set by the Regional Director and Estimating Manger. The Lead Estimator identifies value engineering and other cost saving opportunities for the organization. Ensures project proposals are complete with accurate project schedules; work execution plans and all required deliverables are fulfilled in conjunction with the proposal coordinators. \nKey Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: \nOversee, lead and support the regions project estimators with technical support, reviews and mentorship. With a large focus on the \"in progress\" portion of the estimating process; Assessing the technical project requirements & personnel needs.\nLead the Pre-Construction team in the preparation of all deliverables, including written proposal, schedule, cash flow analysis, exhibit review.\nMonitor the estimator workloads and assignment of projects to the team\nAnalyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.\nCollaborate with the Estimating Manager to implement streamlined procedures and processes while effectively communicating key estimating insights to leadership.\n Assess project risks, constraints, and potential cost savings opportunities.\nUtilize estimating software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.\nAssist Estimating Manager with utilizing and benchmarking historical data.\nPrepare complete cost estimates for electrical transmission, generation, distribution, substation and Battery Energy Storage projects.\nCollaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.\nParticipate in bid negotiations and provide support during contract award processes.\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, industry standards, and emerging technologies in the electrical high-voltage sector.\n Additional duties as assigned.\nAdditional Information\nAs a condition of employment, candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening including professional reference checks and a criminal record check.\nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or similar field considered an asset\nCandidate must possess experience in understanding blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services\n5 or more years of experience in the Electrical High Voltage, Utility or Renewables Industry. \nPossessing estimating knowledge of substation and/or battery energy storage projects is required with strong understanding of protection and control schemes. \nAbility to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera\nProficiency in all applications within Microsoft Office Suite \nMust excel in analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills\nSelf-driven and can stay on-task for extended periods of time.\nA team player who can work with various partners from start until finish.\nTravel may be necessary - must hold a valid driver’s license \nBenefits\nWhy Rising Edge Group?\nSafety & Excellence: Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
